Very good death metal but seems to be seriously overlooked and/or under-distributed.

Made a low bit (16kbps) instrumental drone/black metal EP as an experiment to see if low-bit works with metal. Turns out it does! Anyone interested can download it here:

Tracklist:

1. Mordor
2. Sauron
3. Uruk-Hai

I'm a low-fi/raw BM fan and this is pretty cool, I must say. Tyranny is a good song. Didn't much care for the Transilvanian Hunger cover, though. Classic, minimalistic second wave song - but way overdone. An even longer cover with a different tempo is hard to get through. But your originals are good, so kudos, Blashyrkh.

Hello. I'm new, just signed up tonight in order to submit my band (Sun Won't Rise, still "pending"), although I'm a long time user of the Archives for several years now.

I've made the SWR discography (3 albums) available for download on The Pirate Bay, as well as a lot of my other music which I've created over the years.

Download, and enjoy...

Free Skewered stuff! More info on the band can be found in this thread here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=92558

I joined earlier this year and have been promoting like mad. So, here are the freebies!

'Bad Aids', from the debut album, can be downloaded here:
http://www.reverbnation.com/skewered

The '09 promo has just been uploaded to Last.fm by myself. 4 tracks, all the aggressiveness is intact in this recording.
http://www.last.fm/music/Skewered/Promo+09
Or you can get it here:
http://skewered.bandcamp.com/album/promo-09

The first demo (from the year after the band formed, mostly playing old Necrosis material) can be downloaded for free here:
http://skewered.bandcamp.com/album/homegrown-brutality
It's really raw in production quality. It sounds like a rehearsal, to be fair. The band has matured a lot since then. More experience over the years and all that jazz.

Hear the progression? The new stuff's getting more technical (but more on that later this year/early next year).

Acolytes of Moros have a doom-metal four-track demo up on bandcamp for free. Heard about the Ancient Greek mythical entity Moros, then looked it up on here to see if the name was taken, and in doing so I discovered this band. I've not listened to much yet, but I'm impressed so far, especially by the vocals;

Warfuck (French grindcore) made their 2012 debut The Weak And The Wicked available for free download (I know I've posted about the band in two threads now, I'd like to add that I'm not affiliated with the band aside from them emailing the album for submission at my blog):

Martial Black Metal/Neo-Folk band from Québec, Souverain, is offering their « Prélude Barbare » (featuring 3 roughly mixed and unmastered songs from their upcoming album, and one exclusive track) to download for free, in order to promote their upcoming full length album.

You can download it there http://souverain-milicegauloise.blogspot.ca/2012/08/prelude-barbare.html.

If you're into black metal, martial industrial and neofolk, you will appreciate the mix.

They are also offering their first EP, a purely Neofolk/Martial Industrial release entitled « Oraison » for free. http://souverain-milicegauloise.blogspot.ca/2012/03/souverain-oraison-promo-ep.html

Solstheim, Scottish black-metal in the style of Enslaved, Emperor and the like, have their début EP on Bandcamp for "pay what you like, including nothing" download. Noticed this while reviewing it, and thought it was worth sharing;

Not that this stuff is highly sought after, but since the good folks at Tripod.com decided to suspend the archived web page (1998) of this early '90s Belgian band, and since Renaissance's long out of print album "the Death of Art" (Shiver Records, 1994) was remastered recently, the album is made available again for free downloading over here, and on Soundcloud.

Didn't intend to time this with Hooded Menace, but interesting coincidence as they are a pretty big influence. Just released a doom metal EP with Northern Torment today. Would love it if people checked it out. Good for people who are into Acid Witch, Runemagick, Church of Misery, or stuff like that.

Costa Rican melodic death metal band Advent of Bedlam (http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Adv ... 3540311576) has all FOUR of their full-length releases available for free download from their website (http://adventofbedlam.com/aobwp/?p=1675), including two releases from when they were known as December's Cold Winter (http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Dec ... inter/6628).

Really solid and accomplished melodeath with a brutal edge (later releases in particular).

Jute Gyte - Senescence
Labyrinths of experimental black metal, hermetically enclosed in walls of blasting and tangled guitar masses, finally collapsing into a ukulele-driven polyrhythmic black noise dirge. Jute Gyte's sixth black metal release.

You can get digital copies pay-what-you-will ("pay" $0.00 to get it free), as well as stream and buy physical copies, here: http://jutegyte.bandcamp.com

I'm currently a bit obsessed with this band at the moment:

Ophir, ritualistic post-BM ambient/drone/noise. 3 albums, each with two long tracks, featuring layers of distorted reverb-drenched guitars creating a cacophony of buried melodies and atonalities, like cascades of poisoned honey burning into your ears. 1st album "Nutmeg" is bit more atonal and challenging than the others, but "Cebu" and "Spikenard" are simply entrancing.

I've created a link to all the legally free metal albums I could find on my blog.
There might be a few errors due to bands updated their bandcamp page.
