Sometimes I find myself looking up guitar gear I'll probably never own, and stumble across a picture of...oh, let's say Martin Persson from Dismember, playing a really rad looking guitar. Thing looks like it could be a custom shop B.C. Rich, but I can't be too sure! I search around the internet, ask a few friends, and still nothing.

So...

Here's a thread to use when you'd like to to ask if the M-A community happens to know what brand of guitar so-and-so metal musician uses, or what type of hi-hat clutch somebody uses, or what who's-his-face did to his HM-2 to make it sound like a diseased walrus, or...you get the point.

So does anybody know what brand that B.C. Rich looking guitar Martin Persson uses is (the one with the head stock that looks like a shark bit into it)?

***Here's a place where you can find out which gear is used by some common names in rock n' roll/metal

Damn, I wrote a similar thread in notepad but never posted it. It had the same title as well.

Spoiler: show
This thread should serve as a place to try to identify and confirm what gear has been used by artists on particular releases. This could be instruments, amps, stompboxes, racks, mics, software, etc...

For example, I know the Boss HM-2 has been used on:
Left Hand Path and Clandestine by Entombed.
The Sleep of Morbid Dreams by Funebrarum.
Obey by Axis of Advance.

Jus Oborn used the Boss FZ-2 on Dopethrone.
Boris uses Sunn, Matamp and Orange amps pretty much all the time.
Matt Pike used a discontinued Matamp Green on Dopesmoker (not 100% sure about this). Now he uses a Soldano SLO-100 and a Marshall JCM800 with Emperor cabs.
Mitch Harris used a Framus Dragon on Time Waits for No Slave and probably still does.
Bob Vigna has used the discontinued Peavey Triple XXX with Vader cabinets, probably since Harnessing Ruin or CTAWB.
Bill Taylor used a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier with Immolation. Don't know if he still does.
Suffocation used Marshall 8100 amps with the Korg G1 on Pierced from Within. Also used the Ampeg VH-140C on Despise the Sun.
Pig Destroyer used the Crate Shockwave on Terrifyer.
Funebrarum uses a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier live.

And so on...

Aha! Thank you so much! I post on ss.org, I dunno why I didn't think to ask there...anyways, I love the style of that guitar. It's like a Bich mixed with a Stealth, and of course I love that headstock.

Well they used both from what I understand, a lot of the live vids I've seen they've had the VH.

OKay I see, also could've been the converted ss140c's that you just remove the bottom with the speakers from the combo, I saw one guy using one and made a normal looking head but it was open with plexi glass and he had glued down plastic dinosaurs battling with each other on the inside.
