I have to argue that black winter is really established in greece and one of the biggest acts in the greek periphery... Also one of the very basic members who was in the debut album and up to last year is from Raging Storm and the ex drummer of Denial Price one of the Very First greek heavy metal bands and Last issue of Metal Hammer lists it in a tribute to the most influential bands around.

Their MA page says Greece, so, what's your point?

I am adding to the previous arguement on containing http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Phase/3540351266 as a side project which is really close to metal anyway... take good care...

Ehrlichkeit and Profectum Iri were rejected because ""Drone/black noise. Not a metal band; does not belong on Encyclopaedia Metallum. Please read our rules next time to see what qualifies as metal." (for the first one) and "Drone ambient. Not a metal band; does not belong on Encyclopaedia Metallum. Please read our rules next time to see what qualifies as metal." (for the second one).

But Profectum Iri (link:http://sonic-ear-destruction.nl/throat/, click on "releases" and scroll down, also this band appeared in this split: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Ut ... der/341627) is Black Metal/Noise/Dark Ambient, and Ehrlichkeit (link: http://www.depressiveillusions.com/item ... n-passages) is Raw Black Metal/Drone Ambient.
I think they should definitely be there, by the fact they're very similar and more metal than bands like this http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Dvn ... bkre/41059 .

The band Hiroshima Parade has been blacklisted; there previous material was indeed not metal oriented, but they've changed their style since then and released a new single called "The Brood", which is in a more heavier direction. Would this be acceptable for the archives as a heavy metal/hard rock genre?

I'm no mod, so no help on un-blacklisting, but in the case of Profectum Iri, you can at least add the members of the band that appeared on the Utukku split to the album's lineup, much as I have done with Italian grindcore group Cripple Bastards (which was brought up on the last page; see an example on the founder's member page http://www.metal-archives.com/artists/G ... ard/449868 )

EDIT: Speaking of my Cripple Bastards post on the last page. I know Zodijackyl gave his opinion that they're numerous splits with MA-approved bands are were not enough, but I just wondered if that was majority consensus? Zodijackyl tried to get OneRoadToAsaBay to comment, but as far as I know he's not around that often.

The fact is that I don't know the line-up nor how to contact them.

I definitely do not think Cripple Bastards should be here, though I am a fan. Being on splits with metal bands is definitely not enough--the band must be metal on their own merits.

Also, apologies for not seeing the mention earlier.

Hi all. I attempted to add one of my band mate's other band, only to find they were blacklisted! Couldn't find any info using the Search feature. The "Motorpsychos". I suspect it had something to do with them not being metal enough at the time. They're pretty thoroughly metal now. Was this a horrible, sordid affair? Has enough time passed that if they're deemed acceptable now, a page can be added for them? I come in peace, not to disturb any shit.

Considering the band was judged only 10 days ago, I sorely doubt they've suddenly released a much heavier release in the time since they were blacklisted...

Yeah, ditto. Sorry mate, you're shit outta luck. :p Awesome band though.

Dvnaèbkre, and the rest of the Black Legions, are on this site as a selected exception. Please don't use them as a yardstick for gauging the metalness of your submissions.

Also, I listened to Profectum Iri's side of that split from start-to-finish, and I concluded it was leaning too heavily in the ambient spectra. Sorry mate.

Ehrlichkeit was nothing but dark ambient/soundscape. Good listening, but how baked must you be to mistake this for metal? ;) It's nothing but feedback with drums and BM-style vocals over the top of it.

I could not find something by them to listen online at the time of my submission, but now that I listen to that, I agree with you. Thank you again for your time.

So you submitted a band without listening to it first (even brought it up here)? Yeah, please don't do that (especially for black metal/ambient/noise stuff).

In fact it's the first time that this happens. It was suggested to me by a friend who said that Ehrlichkeit were similar to early Abruptum, Archgoat and some LLN projects, like Brenoritvrezorkre and Dvnaèbkre. In fact, I see some similarities but I understand it's not enough "metal", expecially after knowing that some of LLN projects are here only for the name and not only for the music. It won't happen again.

Why isn't the band Vildhjarta from Sweden is included in MA?
Genre: Progressive Metal with chugging guitars.

Hi! i'm asking about a blacklisted band called MoRioR from Italy, i can prove with consistent proves that they were metal.
I'm sure that they were blacklisted for their latest material that sounds really -core/not metal for Metal Archives, but and i'm sure that they will be accepted for their old songs present in their demo CD.
At the beginning they were metal, they released a 2 track demo CD in 2009 and i've got it because they are friends of mine, later they changed style and leave the old songs.
I'm a friend of them, some members of this band played in mine and you can ask everything to them on facebook with a message.
Here i put a photo of the CD that i have at home:

Here the 2 songs from the demo

Why is Homolka (Canada) blacklisted? Pretty obviously death/grind with some noisecore influences. Sounds like later Nasum, Kill the Client, Phobia, etc.

If you can prove that it is a metal band now, and has a whole unambiguously metallic physical release, we'll check it again. Please avoid sarcastic/ironic/smarty comments.

Alhadis' response pretty clearly answered your inquiry. They were judged not metal ten days ago, so it would follow that their recent material has been considered already.

Hello again, I've got another question about a band who were previously rejected. NoGoD from Japan fits somewhere under the gothic / power metal section to me, one of you mods mind checking this for me? :3

I think that this has been discussed a billion times here. They of course play metal (and metal is their only lyrical theme), but on this site they do not accept them, and since it's a private site they have the right to include what they want, so let's not bother them anymore on this argument :D.

hello.
i was trying to add a project named "null" from italy and it says

"Warning: a band called "Null" (Italy) has been blacklisted! Your submission will not go through, unless your band comes from a different country; select the country in the drop-down to verify."

all the releases have been released physically even through labels. (here an example http://frozentendril.bigcartel.com/prod ... -pre-order but there are also others...)
i don't know why it's been banned the band name, but i want to ask if this one i'm talking about isn't metal enough.

the project was an experimental drone one. it means each release has his own genre, so there are some drone noise, some drone ambient, some (most of them) drone black metal, funeral drone doom metal, industrial drone, drone folk... is correct to add this kind of band to metal-archives?
if yes, because more than one of these releases are related to metal, wich genre i should put? experimental drone black metal (this is the most recurring genre) is correct?

here i post some tracks to make you judge

http://nullita.bandcamp.com/track/ii-miasma-ammaliante
http://nullita.bandcamp.com/track/omici ... onia-cover
http://nullita.bandcamp.com/track/inverno-incandescente

through these links you can listen even to other works and go to the official site, if needed.

regards..

I recently submitted a band called 'Buzzard' to the archives, and it was rejected on the grounds of not having a physical release. I own a copy of the physical release and have scanned photos as the examples show to prove that it is indeed a physical release. However, I am not allowed to directly email the mods these photos and the FAQs section of the forum does not really explain how to upload the images to the forum. If a mod could respond with how to proceed, that would be great.

Resubmit unless it's blacklisted, include links of verifying photos in the submission notes.

Note: I'm not a moderator.

Resubmit unless it's blacklisted, include links of verifying photos in the submission notes.

I included the link where I found the only images of the album online when I first submitted; I also do not have a link to these scans, nor a way to do so.

About Phase? No, it's not metal and it doesn't qualify as a side project, sorry.

Hello,

Can someone fill me in on why Periphery has been blacklisted from the site? It simply confuses me. I can understand why bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Slipknot are banned, but I fail to see what is so "Not metal" about Periphery. They were on the Summer Slaughter tour 2012, and the roster for said tour contains bands that all have entries on this site, with the exception of Periphery (And Between the Buried and Me, which despite not being a fan, I'm also a little puzzled about.) There is nothing scene or coreish about Periphery, in my opinion. If someone could tell me why the Archives have decided otherwise, I will shut up.

Thank you

That's the results of a simple research in the Suggestions and Complaints forum, we answer these issues quite often.

It wouldn't really be a fight, we're hardly a democracy! :-D

Hello,
I tried to submit Russian band called Tarantul (or Тарантул), but it was rejected because "CD-R with hand writng on it without any cover doesn't count as a proper release". I'd like to object to this decision for two reasons:

1. I probably mentioned that about 50 copies of the band's Demo 2004 (which remains their only physical release to date) were made. The thing is... 30 to 35 of them actually had a cover, and the rest didn't. I was "lucky" enough to get a no-cover version. All CD-Rs with covers were sent to various zines for reviewing, all the other were given to friends, fellow musicians etc. So this release had a cover, but unfortunately I can't prove it:-(

2. I've done a kind of quick "research" and found (for example) these three bands:
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Death_Force/87680
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Broadax/3540300743
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Car ... est/113856
I'm pretty sure there's a bunch of similar band pages here. So... All the three above-mentioned bands have only one demo each, but there're no pictures, no covers, no additional info, no nothing. Still all these bands were accepted. I'm confused...

Please note that I mean no offense, I'm just trying to understand the moderation policy. At the moment it seems a bit odd to me, I'd appreciate some clarification...
