There's been Obscura first press copies appearing almost daily on ebay on the last week, none cheap. How much of a coincidence can that be?

It does seem kind of odd, and it's kind of a bad time for me to be selling my promo.

It has actually sold for much more than that in the past. If you go back one page on this thread you will see one sold for $1450!

and this one here SORORICIDΕ - THE ENTITY sold for $1030

In the past, other copies have been reported that they were sold for more than $2000 with the highest being $3800!
I know it is crazy but "for collectors money is nothing, objects are everything"

40 - 60 Euro should be realistic, the vinyl version would probably range from 70 - 100 Euro

Is there any commercial value in an authentic 1987 Liege Lord Burn To My Touch CD? Or its value is limited to the music inside the disc? :p

The music inside the disc has great value indeed! :)
If it is of any help, there is one recorded sale of the original Liege Lord - Burn to My Touch Metal Blade 1987 that was sold for 23 euros.

Is it just me, or has the value of Deception Ignored dropped a lot since this onslaught of bootlegs started being made? It used to sell well over sixty every time a genuine copy came to light, but now it's barely reaching forty. There's a buy it now (with best offer) of it on eBay... in fact, it's been there for weeks! :???:

That's the LP which sells for about half the price of the CD copies, at least usually.

I was talking about the CD. Six months ago, a 49$ copy of this would have been snatched up within a few hours. But yeah, the LP's never been worth much...

You mean Survive. We had a topic about that a while ago.

Can't relate to the whole cooling down of the search on this album because I haven't been "ebaying" for a while now.

here are some ended auctions from the last couple of years http://heavymetalcd.com/cd_prices/searc ... n%20Angels

Thanx! I think it's not a bad price but probably I won't be selling it soon.

But is has a hole-punch, so it was a promo or a sell-out copy.

yeah? my mate got one in a cardboard sleeve with "promo" written all over it, so [not wanting to sound naive but] what do you mean by a sell-out copy?

At least here in Germany in the 90s a lot of distros and stores marked the cheapos so that they are not sold for regular price. Most popular method for CDs was a hole in the barcode so that the CD price is entered manually in the cashier system and not via barcode which would have meant regular price.
I bought lots of nowadays rare CDs in the middle of the 90s with holes in the barcode such as Dawn - Naer solen..., God Forsaken - Dismal gleams..., for $1 each. Another method beside the barcode were saw cuts (often done with vinyl).
This should mark a diffence for those that once paid regular price and those that bought them when the shop was "selling them out" for next to nothing.

For a full non promo and non-marked copy definitely yes. But I wouldn't spend more than $5 for a punched or cut version of any album. In the meantime I could replace all of the hole punched CDs with the original editions mostly I was lucky to sell the marked edition for the same price I bought the original regular version :-).
The only CD left is the Gummo Soundtrack but I'm fine with this.

I just spend $120 USD for a sealed copy of Ildjarn is Dead, I don't see anything wrong with paying a large amount of money if it's something that you really would like to have. I have always thought that EVERYTHING in the world available for purchase is only worth the amount that you are willing to pay, and me being a collector there are many things that I would pay money for
