My Dying Bride have released a statement in regards to the release of their new album! It is to be called 'A Map of all our Failures'. It is due to be released in October of this year

The tracklisting is as follows:

1.Kneel till Doomsday
2.The Poorest Waltz
3.A Tapestry Scorned
4.Like A Perpetual Funeral
5.A Map of all our Failures
6.Hail Odysseus
7.Within The Presence of Absence
8.Abandoned As Christ

Taken from: http://www.mydyingbride.net/

I personally cannot wait to hear this! For Lies I Sire and The Barghest O'Whitby were both great, really psyched about this and they're playing London in December!!!!

Yesssssssssssss. Didn't much care for For Lies I Sire but their latest EP was pretty solid. Anyway, I'm excited for this, can't wait to hear it.

For Lies I Sire frustrated the heck out of me but I am psyched about this because I still love those men. I hope it is a return to form (meaning Doom/Death)

For lies was shitty, but Barghest was awesome. I have some expectations.

For Lies wasn't bad, just boring. And I didn't check out Barghest cause Aaron's ''harsh vocals'' are terrible now. But this could still be good, they still have at least one good album left in them, I'm sure of it.

You should check the EP man, it's pretty good. I actually thought they couldn't get away with such a long song but they did and it's very good. The production is also a bit raw and it helps to make it more in line with older recordings.

As for the new album, I have some expectations but not many. I still have to tackle a considerable part of their discography. :)

I have literally enjoyed everything they've done. My favorite of the death/doom pioneers by a long shot.

And you'd better believe I'm gonna be all over this when it comes out.

EDIT: My Last.fm lies. When I marathoned all the My Dying Bride material, I wasn't using Last.fm at all.

Heh, lame. I like Aaron's vocals, but to say his harsh vocals are still good is seeing through rose coloured glasses.

I don't think his harsh vocals are bad as such but on the last two releases was shocked at just how much they have degenerated. Hopefully he will be ok for doing harsh vocals on the new album!

I love For lies I shire, its by far their most diverse and dynamic album, containing some great melodies. The EP is completely different but great too, darker and more intense. So I am sure that I will like the new album hehehe.

Yep, Lies is actually my favourite recent release by these guys, I'm looking forward to it. I can't even remember Hilariously English: The EP at all, should give it a fresh listen.

Hope they keep the death metal influence throughout the album

New track sounds like some of their best material in a while and it seems like the motivation from the latest EP is still flowing strong.

I love everything this band has done been listening to them since Turn Loose the Swans, this will be no different; I've heard it's a lot like Like Gods of the Sun, so we shall see.

According to Andrew it's 60%Clean and 40% growls vocal wise.

I also prefer Shawn's violin work thus far than Katie's but then her violins were added later on I think I heard.

For Lies didn't do anything for me, but MDB, for me, have always varied between ok and awesome, so I'll check it out.

IMHO MDB can do no wrong! For those saying Aaron's growls and screams have degenerated, love pretty and polished extreme vocals. Not me, keep them sick and dirty as they have always been! I also loved For Lies and the new EP. Very excited for this one.

Man, I love My Dying Bride, but to say that his growls HAVEN'T degenerated significantly from what he could do on Songs Of Darkness is just ridiculous.

Very, very, very excited about this! Honestly, I wasn't too fond of For Lies..., Evinta, or The Barghest... In my view, they were good, but didn't quite manifest that sweeping emotive intensity that underlies even the subtlest songs on their better records. This new track definitely has the sound I was hoping for after those records; though, I must admit, I am easily pleased - anything of theirs that is even vaguely more on the doom-death end of the spectrum will have me hooked.

This sounds way closer to SoD than I could hoped. If the album sounds like this, I'll be buying it for sure.

Aaron sounds great too, WAY better than he did on For Lies.

I heard a stream of one of the new songs and it sounded great. I haven't exactly been a fan of this band, but I've been familiar with all their work since their inception. To me, MDB is a band that has a couple outstanding songs on each album and a bunch of filler for the rest. I find their best material blends all their sounds together: a bit of the mellow, a bit of the sad, and a bit of the aggression.

Didn't hate Lies, didn't love it either. Hated Evinta and was bored by Barghest. I like the new song though. Aaron is one of my all time fav vocalists but I have to admit the growl sounds much weaker. I'd rather hear his clean vocals than these growls

Its quite sad because it contains some beautiful tracks, mainly in the first cd which is truly brilliant. The problem is that its too long, anyway I have the special edition and I listen to it when I am reading a good book.

By the way, the new song is excellent, this is going to be something great. :)

Not too impressed by the new song must say. Maybe it will grow on me, will listen again tonight after work and see.

Regardless, still looking forward to the new album!!

This guy knows what's up.

The first CD is definitely the best one, with the phenomenal "In Your Dark Pavilion" and "You are Not the One Who Loves Me." Haunting, beautiful stuff.

Not at all. Evinta was a massive piece of shit. It was more boring than just sitting around listening to silence.

If you consider songs like "You are Not the One Who Loves Me" as a piece of shit we can end this discussion, we must live in different dimensions or something like that.

I am inclined to agree. Evinta was boring at best, and totally unlistenable at worst.
In my opinion, of course.

I'm not expecting much at all from the new MDB album. The last thing they did that I thought was decent was Turn Loose the Swans.

Evinta was incredible, at least I thought so. It doesn't surprise me though that most MDB fans didn't like it. I will say Evinta sounded more like an Aaron Stainthorpe solo album than a MDB album, but I still thought it was very well done and it was great to hear all those MDB melodies put to a totally different style.
