Sorry, didn't mean to come across like that. Might just be the language barrier here, seeing as here we usually refer to our pets as persons in any case. No offense meant. :)

No problem, Sinistrous.
I don't mean to get all defensive about it, it just struck me as kind of "self-righteous" (though I guess that was not your intention after all).

I'm sorry if I sounded like a bit of a dick.

This is my dog. Her name is Chloe. She is a mutt, but her dad was a Bull Mastiff, and her mom was a Rottweiler mix. She howls at the moon and kills small birds who dare enter her domain. I believe her to be reasonably metal.

I have no pets as of now but plan on getting a Siberian Husky as soon as I move out (parents are allergic to dogs and huskys shed constantly) which should be by the end of the year... Gonna have to run the bastard like 3 miles on a daily basis though since they're sled dogs and have to run a lot... at least it'll help keep me from getting too fat.

I can just imagine Reverend Bizarre playing in the background everytime he emerges from the darkness of his lair.

Saddly I have no photos of my cat, Jericho. Sadder still is that he disappeared about 4 months ago. He was an evil bastard. Always attacking people for no apparent reason, picking fights with other cats and charging into the house to pillage for food. On second thought... maybe it's best that he's gone...

I used to post a lot on this site a good 10 years ago. Came back recently… been reading a lot, mostly lurking in the corners. I felt an obligation to post to this thread because no one else seems to have a chickie like me thus far.

Homemade little cage.... it's fox proof. For some reason the foxes like shredded chicken too.

This is it running around in the yard. We let them roam free during the day and lock them up at night.

Also have 5 cats, some deer, lots of foxes, possums, bunnies, and other forest animals that have decided to move onto my farm in the woods and not leave.

Thanks. I've always liked bloods, in spite of their lovely temperaments half the time. That Peruvian was given to me by a friend who didn't want it anymore about 5 years ago, and I've just sorta kept her around. I recently decreased my stock by over 50%, it was becoming a money drain, as well as a bit of a time drain. But I still dig the snakes, always will. I stick to primarily dumerils boas nowadays. Here's a few of them:

Jackalopes. I know they don't exist, but they would make the coolest pets. How can anyone not want a jackalope to pet and play catch with?

First encounter: Mokoma the Cat, left, meets the new resident, Horna the Cat, right, for the first time today.

Image

Got him from the local rescue shelter today. The older feline is NOT pleased, he keeps hissing and threatening the wee one, but I think he's stupid enough to forget the insulting intrusion by Saturday morning.

Nice cats Napero, I've dealt with a similar situation recently as well. It'll take 6 months to a year for the cats to become inseparable, with many hilarious situations before then :D

They grew up to be beautiful swans. That's why he was 50% succesful; they grew up to be not ducks, as was expected, but swans. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Ducks are shifty bastards, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. One was lost to nature (a grand escape during swim class), one died from human neglect (Ducks got wet and soaked their towel, I didn't know that wet towels have to be changed immediately or they'll get a chill and die) and the last died from a wildcard decision which haunted me for days..
If any of you ever decide to raise ducks in a city setting, make sure you a)put them in a box that's at least 3 feet tall; b)keep them in a room that has ALL of it's duct(haha) covers in place c)Ensure you have a quick access port into the furnace ductwork to retrieve potential lost duckery and finally d)Earplugs for the potential next few days, as hearing a baby duck try to claw and chirp it's way out of inevitability will eat at your soul
I'm still bittersweet about the whole thing. I only kept the ducks for 2 weeks then decided to donate them to a farm that raises ducks.. it definitely was a learning process, all very kabbalistic. It gives me some solace knowing they would have all died if I hadn't intervened; They were 1 week old in the backyard of a house in a city and their mom abandoned them.

Gorz, those are stock photos from websites. Unless you actually own them, don't post them. Only post your own pets.

Actually I was doubtful about posting photos from other websites, but I don't own any of those animals so I've got no photos yet. just wanted to provide photos along with their names.
sorry. never again ;)
