Swedish Shining just revealed the title for their new album:

http://patriciathomasmanagement.com/201 ... te-opened/

I don't know what to think, seems like they are heading a different direction with this one, than the previous ones. There are also three songs in English on the new record.

I'll be on this like glue. I've loved everything Shining has done especially since III.

Another one already? And people were ranting on the other thread about some new Destruction...

Kvarforth certainly isn't selling himself short

He's talking about people quoting a post they agree with and only saying "This". Like "I agree with everything this person just said" Just saying he hates those kinds of posts, but he's gonna do it anyway.

Anyway, I really should check out more of Shining's stuff. I've heard The Eerie Cold and Halmstad. Halmstad is awesome. Is the later stuff similar?

I'm. Fucking. Dumb.

Thanks for pointing that out. Sorry, Cinerary!

And for your question, yes the latter stuff is similar. The same well-produced, gloomy black metal as Halmstad. All the full-lengths are similar except I and II.

I cannot wait for this! Love all the albums apart from VI (still like it I just don't love it). Also heard they are meant to be doing a Christmas album?? Anyone know anything about this?

I just impulse bought "The Eerie Cold" based off this thread and a quick glance at reviews on MA and other websites but I just noticed your comment on not buying the Peaceville version of it and I'm pretty sure that's the version I got. I hope that random rant at the start of the first song isn't massively off-putting...

Really looking forward to this. While Klagopsalmer was a slight let down Halmstad and Född Förlorare are two of my favourite albums. According to his own words Redefining Darkness is the darkest album that Kvarforth has ever done so I have high expectations.

Hmm, the version you would want starts like this. The bad version I got (you probably got this if it is super jewel box) is this.

Well, Shining just posted a video on their official Facebook. It has a new song tagged to the end.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugE9YF3Vg6c&feature=youtu.be

The video is weird, with Niklas naked in the bathtub, so you know before you watch it.

New song was sounding much better than expected! The video was very strange, quite enjoyable however. Very 'Shining'.

Thanks! The video is just stupid, in my opinion.

haha yeah the video was a little silly...

You know I wasn't all that impressed with their last album...I thought it was weak.
But I have hope for this new album and it would be fucking awesome if they did a Christmas album. Christmas is a really fucking sad holiday...

Gotta say, if I didn't like their music so much, that video would have completely turned me off the band. Yes, if the new song is any indication, the new album is going to slay. That being said, Kvarforth is a fucking attention whore; he's like a goddamned child.

Your username stretches the subforums, it makes it look stupid. At least spell words correctly if you're going to comment (or troll for that matter).

I hate that homobandana-wearing cockjockey Kvarforth and his GG Alin wannabe act. Anyway the song is not bad, but I think Lifelover does this kind of music much better than Shining does. Maybe I will give this album a chance to see if it stands out a bit

Black Sabba is one of my favorite Jamaican DanceHall/Dub artists. I don't think Lil Wayne is better than him.

Also, new Shining. Same old stuff. It's meh....always been meh....always will be meh.
