Hey, guys, yesterday was the one-year anniversary of the Biggest Band You've Never Heard thread. For those of you who posted in it, go look back and see if you've listened to the bands you've mentioned!

(The only band I wiped off my list was Emperor. :grumble:)

I've only listened to one Iron Maiden album and I'm not particularly bothered by my lack of further experience with their music.

Yeah, exploring the nether regions of the sphincter of deathcore is a much more pressing matter than checking out Maiden's classics. :durr:

I've got some serious problems, I adore the shit out of scary storys, however my imagination is WAY into hauling my ass places SK would shit his pants over, so most nights after a good campfire-esque exchange of the just creepy as tits shit, my nights consist of me staring over the edge of my bed in abject horror of what could possibly be making that scratching noise.... Fuck I hate my imagination sometimes.
Actually anybody know of a way to control that stuff? I know I've had nights where that sort of crap doesn't bother me at all, I mean I could go out on my front porch without lights on and not bat an eyelash but about 90% of the time I have to sleep with a knife under my pillow.

Somewhere, a Russian is writing this down to use as a song title for his goregrind band, Polymorphic Genital Sepsis and Turgid Vaginectomy.

Come to realize and understand that the root word in "imagination" is "imagine(d)." It might also help to familarize yourself with the derivative word "imaginary."

*After a couple of what might very well be the busiest weeks I've ever experienced (and seriously, my life got ass-kickingly busy and made all media/entertainment aside from listening to music via headphones and car stereo impossible), it feels nice to get back on the forums and catch up on things. Excited about and anticipating the new Enslaved and Ash Borer. Positively loving the new Deathspell Omega EP. So happy and fortunate that I had a tiny (but wonderful) group of family and friends as well as a gigantic mass of awesome metal music (both new and old) to keep me going through a couple of exhausting weeks. Now, a week off before the football season starts and I get into coach mode until November. Busy times, but I'll be loving it. :)

*Warning: This post trends positively and is themed around human kindness and happiness. Refrain from reading this post if you are currently listening to funeral doom or DSBM, as the contrast may cause nausea, migraine headaches, irritated bowels, explosive diarrhea, bacon strips, hives, sensitivity to sunlight, and enlargement of the prostate in men and swelling of the ovaries in women. You have been warned.

Mine have pretty much become a natural extension of my face - It's only occasionally, like now, that I "realise" that I wear them.

Anyways, yesterday, I gave in to the inherent male attraction to sharp-objects and bought a survival knife, after seeing one which was over half-price, and realising "Oh... I can buy those now".

Can't say much because I'm just getting started with them, but so far, they aren't annoying. I barely even feel them, actually. What's funny though, is that between my haircut, my dislike for shaving, and now the glasses, I look much like your stereotypical hipster. It's hilarious

Having been sporting four eyes since third grade, I'm quite happy that I now have a job that provides health insurance. I'm either switching to contacts or getting laser corrective surgery.
Twelve years of scratched, chewed up, crushed, and otherwise ugly pairs of glasses gets real old :grumble:

Having to use glasses suck terribly bad, Xlxlx, I really *HATE* having to use glasses. I've been using glasses for the last seventeen years of my life, and that is one of the things that I hate the most. Stupid sub-par eyes.

That sounds both absurdly cute and nerve-grinding at the same time.

I tend to keep mine on my face from the moment I wake up to the the moment I get into bed - I stop noticing them, although I'd find it more tedious if I'd ever gotten into the habit of only wearing them for specific activities.

Yeah, Xlxlx. You can't imagine how much I hate them. But there's not much I can do about them, since everyone in my family is as blind as a fucking gopher. It was gonna happen anyways. Stupid bad genes.

Smudges on my glasses are the worst, I find them really distracting. I hope my current pair don't end up getting busted, my backup pair have big ass hipster frames. I must have been drunk when I picked them out.

Had an exam to see if I'm good for Lasik a few days ago. So far so good, but I'm waiting for a call from the center to see if I need to go for further exams. Unfortunately, the only place for the final eye exams and the surgery is an eight hour drive from here.

As someone else said, the majority of the time I have my glasses on I don't even realize/notice I have them on. Contacts freak me the fuck out though. I don't know what it is but the idea of having something on my eye like that weirds me out.

That's the only bad part. I can never get these damn smudges off of them for more than an hour or so. Buy yeah, I agree with Xlxlx; I just got glasses for the first time back in January and I barely even notice them. They're great, honestly.

Night contacts>normal contacts>glasses

Really, glasses are annoying as hell. Been thinking of laser surgery. Quite risky however.

This. I've never been comfortable with the idea of putting stuff in my eyes, so I will wear glasses til the day I die. Have an eye appointment next week, actually.

Glad to see I'm not the only one creeped out by contacts. I could never use those.

Yeah, a friend of mine had laser surgery a few years ago and says it's the best choice he ever made, but the idea terrifies me. Even if I had the money for it, I wouldn't do it. I really don't mind wearing my glasses. I need new frames though.

Had glasses since I was 11. Pretty much sticking to them unless I go laser. I'll never touch contacts like a buddy of mine has for years.

Exact opposite here; got contacts when I was thirteen and wore them/my glass about 50-50 until high school when I switched entirely to contacts...I don't think I've worn my old glasses for over 6 years now. Been meaning to get a new pair as backup in case I get an eye infection or something.

Well, I got a rather average physical complexion, and I'm almost six feet tall..... So no. Also, my hair is kinda like a Beatle's, if only more scruffy, and I strongly dislike shaving. You were quite far off the mark, in all honesty :-P
