I read the guide lines but to be honest my knowledge of music sucks. Here are some of the bands i love- the absence, darkest hour, the crown, malfetior(from italy), watain, gorgoroth, skeletonwitch, graveyard(sweden i believe). Im looking for any help to find anything similar to any of these in their own genre. I know this is vague but any help is much appreicated.

There's vague and VAGUE. You should read all the help threads we have on the first page. The death and black metal ones especially. Also, check the pages of the bands you mentionned, click on Similar Artists and check them out.

For Graveyeard: I'll recommend The Devil's Blood, Orcus Chylde, Blood Ceremony, Orchid, Kadavar and Witchcraft.

Learn to lurk before making new threads, please.

Really, the best thing for you to do at this point is to read reviews of those bands, look for qualities mentioned in them that you appreciate, and correlate those things with other discussions you've heard of other bands. Look for mentions of new bands in reviews and discussions you read. Don't worry about them being all that similar to those bands you have mentioned, but rather try to determine by dint of experience what musical and aesthetic features it is you like and you will then be able to form a more systematic approach to determining what sources of recommendations you can better rely on and where to more efficiently direct your efforts (in regards to what labels/distros carry what kinds of things, what artists' careers you can follow, what scenes you like, etc etc etc).
