Death Angel - Voracious Souls

Maaaaaaan without anguish! I'm on a fairly considerable thrash-kick at the moment.

Virgin Steele - I Will Come For You

This really is a brilliant opener. Lots of emotive time changes, very expressive vocals and some great riffs. Ominous.

Nile - Natural Liberation Of Fear Through The Ritual Deception Of Death

First listen through the new album. Not gonna lie, I'm finding this far less bland than people are saying, and the weird vocals are really nice. We'll see how it holds up in coming weeks.

Speedwolf - Up All Night

Quite like Speedwolf, but I don't listen to their stuff anything-like often enough.

Antonín Dvořák - Symphony No.9 'From The New World'

Everyone should be required by law to have listened to this at least once.

Yes sir! Any day is a good day for a little Satan's Host.

Fides Inversa - Suicidium

This is a wonderful track and I really enjoy the entire album (Hanc Aciem Sola Retundit Virtus). Sometimes the guitar tone sounds like Si Monumentum-era Deathspell Omega, other times it sounds like Casus Luciferi-era Watain. So yeah, basically it kicks major quantities of ass. Songs are all huge and diverse while still maintaining the "buzz" of the black metal sound and the accompanying black metal sensibilities. Great listen. Highly recommended to fans of the aforementioned bands (Deathspell and Watain) as well as fans of bands like Ascension, Funeral Mist, etc.

I really wish they would put out another album. I'm usually not a fan of super groups, but these guys do it rather well.

Exactly my thoughts. I keep giving these guys -- and retro death metal in general -- a chance, hoping they'll take their veneration and do something interesting with it, but it never happens.

Tangerine Dream - Song of the Whale Part 2: ...To Dusk

Stunningly beautiful.

Vindicator - Strange Aeons

Hmmmm, this might be one of the more promising thrash-revival bands I've come across in a while. I shall investigate further. The bass could handle being a bit more prominent though, it feels a bit dry.
