Screamer - Future World

Hey guys, both Iron Maiden and Helloween called. Helloween want their song title back, and Maiden want the vocal line from "Still Life" back.

One of my favorite ambient songs of all time. I'm actually listening to some droney/ambient right now:
Grouper - Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill
One woman project with nightmarish undertones and layers of beautiful droning acoustic guitar, gentle vocals, and dark entrancing melodies.

As The World Bleeds might be my favourite power metal album of last year. I might not be on level ground with Matt Smith spiritually, but he makes some damn fine melodic metal.

Damn straight. If I had listened to them a few months earlier, that album would've been on my year-end list.

Digging some Keith Hudson right now. I'm not much into Reggae, but it seems alright tonight. I'll have to check out some full releases and some other stuff on Trojan Records soon.

Merzbow - "Ananga-Ranga"

Noise is seriously addicting. My ears feel weird if I try to stop listening to it.

Manipulator - Mass Graves

This...holy fuck! This is death metal at it's murky, filthy, underground best. Phenomenal. Certainly no reinvention of the wheel, but christ it's good.

Angra - Rebirth

Not quite sure what I think about that. It sounds quite annoying but then again it has interesting parts which remind me a bit of Dream Theater.

Electric Wizard - Satanic Rites of Drugula

Drugula, of course, was the ill-fated supervillain with track marks, perpetually chapped lips, and a deviated septum who was slated to appear in a trilogy of big budget CGI movies directed by Michael Bay. The title character was supposed to be played by Robert Downey, Jr. c. 1999, but unfortunately Drugula died in a bizarre ritual--his body was found surrounded by goat's blood and black tar heroin--and the project never saw the light of day.

The Wizaaaaaaaard!

Depeche Mode - A Pain That I'm Used To, off Playing the Angel

Catchy, catchy, catchy, catchy, catchy! Plus, I find it really fun to sing along to Depeche Mode, but that must have to do with the fact that I can do an almost spot on Dave Gahan impression (which I'm very proud of, may I add) :-P

 Oh god, I remember that album. The last song (I think it was "Heir to the Throne" or something like that) is the SAME FUCKING SONG as "Nightrider" by Queensryche. I could not believe that shit.

I love Brave New World, I consider it to be one of Maiden's best and most complete sounding albums.

Given all the disparate elements going off in their own direction in this song (hell, on this album), this really shouldn't be as damned catchy as it is, yet here we are.
