So, I'm a huge fan of Falconer and of Matthias Blad. Basically, I'm looking for bands that have crunchy and memorable riffs and a strong baritone vocalist.

Here's a good example of what I'm looking for. Shame the demo only vocalist left, since now they sound so generic.

don't really know anything that makes me think of them.

Sabaton would be the closest in my view...but admittedly they're pretty different.

Not really that similar to Falconer (I don't know of any band that is really similar to them), but try early Vintersorg and Otyg.

Oh, and the new song Candlemass released recently has reminded me a lot of a slightly doomy Falconer. Don't know any of their other recent stuff, so I can't tell you whether or not that's just a one-off.

Probably the closest you'll get.

Also, check out Oliver Hartmann-era AT VANCE.

And I assume you have already heard Khan-era KAMELOT...

Orden Ogan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QMCpwCiiDg

Similar mood, and the vocals aren't too dissimilar themselves. Great band.

Oh - be sure to check out LORENGUARD, as well. The back-up singer has a very deep voice, but he's not featured on every song. They are still a great band worth listening to if you're a fan of power metal.

I just started to get into Wuthering Heights, is the vocalist a member of Astral Doors by any chance? Also, to help a little, I was wondering if any of the vocalists could be classically trained?

one song on the new ReinXeed album sounds like Falconer
"Temple of the Crystal Skulls"

(skip to 1:17 in this teaser if you don't want to hear how different it sounds to the album as a whole)

If it's folky melodies and pagan themes, but not folkmetal nor paganmetal cliches, you can't go wrong with Kelthuzzar from Poland, either the first demo or the last LP
