Hm. I'll be busy watching a lot of the bands on all 4 days, but Friday could work best. I'll be bringing my patch vest with me this time. Look for a big Atheist - Piece of Time back patch with a big King Diamond Logo above it and a big Skeletonwitch patch below.

'Piece Of Time' back patch, sweet. I haven't seen many of those.

I'm incredibly bummed that Ulcerate and Church Of Misery are playing at the same time. COM wins out because it's "Stoner Sunday." With that being said, I'll be watching Yob instead of the rest the Chilean Pentagram's set. I can't decide who to watch between The Devil's Blood and Deviated Instinct. I'm probably going to go back and forth between Artillery/Negura Bunget and Confessor/Horna.

Well, I didn't think I'd make it this year for various reasons, but someone offered me a ride, a ticket and a place to crash, and it's an opportunity I can't pass up, so 90% certain I will attend. Pretty excited!

Yeah I'm not happy about that either. The other one I'm bummed out about is the Deviated Instinct/The Devil's Blood overlap.

Boo! That is crap, I say!

Wow, yeah, those overlapping timeslots are bad! i've already seen negura so I don't really mind passing them up, but still...

Edit: ALthough I have a ticket now, someone else I know does not...don't suppose there's a chance anyone here has a four day pass they want to sell?

Sweet! The only overlap I'm concerned about is Ulcerate / Church of Misery. Though I think Ulcerate wins out a wee bit... I want to see the guys pull that shit off live. Everything else is pretty clear cut. I'm glad to see Agalloch's getting a full hour on Thursday, too.

I'm getting so pumped for this. I already planned out when I need to be at each stage.

Starting to properly plan each day. Hope to get up reasonably early and see some of Baltimore as we will only be there from Thursday. Don't want to see any bands until about 8 on Thursday and 4 on Friday so that frees up time. Want to hit the Museum of Black History and Poe's house fo sho. What's the area around the festival like, any good cafés or bars?

I'm planning on making a trip into Washington DC Thursday afternoon so if anyone wants to tag along, let me know. I'm planning on going to the Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial and the National Archives Building. I've never been there to see anyone of them and since I don't really plan on seeing anything until later Thursday, I figured I would do something interesting. I'll probably get down to Baltimore around 11am. Washington is about an hour away and I'd like to be back at MDF at about 7pm. So, should give about 6 hours to see some of the monuments.

A friend of mine was planning on coming down from Michigan to go to this, but ended up changing his plans due to overbearing parents. Can't blame 'em I guess, I'd be worried about my son sleeping 10 hours away at a stranger's house too. He has a 3 day pass up for grabs, if anyone's interested, PM me.

What hotel you staying at? I wouldn't mind having a meet up either, might be fun. Oh and, Ulcerate and Church of Misery overlapping really fucking blows. I think Ulcerate is gonna win out for me as well but I really love COM. :/ I'm thinking because Ulcerate starts ten minutes after they do that I can at least see some of both.

There is that big open field / plaza a block over from the festival. I'd like to meet some of the people that I've known on here for several years as well.

Got familiar with Demonical's most recent album "Death Infernal" yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. The whole album smokes, more or less, and is pretty varied too. Some tracks have a more straight forward Swedish DM sound while some others invoke Amon Amarth and death n roll stylings ala The Crown. Good shit, another band to look forward to seeing now!

I'd be interested in a meet up. Maybe early afternoon Sat or Sun? People could just gather in the parking lot right outside and go from there?

So with all the vendors that are going to be there, who do I definitely have to hit up, and what album(s) are you going to get from them?

I'm open to almost anything except power metal and genre's with symphonic in them. I saw "Dave's Metal" got some people excited on the MDF facebook.

MDF is always a great opportunity to flesh out the metal library.

Deinitely going to get a new zip-up hoodie (Agalloch if possible), and one of the horror-movie MDF shirts, they are bad fucking ass. Assorted tshirts at the festival, and some hockey stuff I can't get in Europe !

I'll definitely be getting the horror film inspired MDF shirt as well. And also will be getting plenty of other shirts/cd's, like the new Burzum album. Not too sure about the quality of the more underground vendors though.

I'll be traveling from Tennessee with a couple friends and we'll be staying at the hostel Monday to Sunday. Anyone else staying there?

I'm also going to see the Meshuggah/Decapitated/Baroness gig in Silver Spring Tuesday, and then relax for a day until the carnage begins Thursday. Can't wait!

Leaving in a couple of hours! If you see a vest with an Atheist - Piece of Time back patch and a big King Diamond logo above it, that'll be me. Feel free to say hi! Hope to meet some of you there. It's going to be a killer weekend! I've been dying to see Morgoth and Morbid Saint for some time now.

Leaving reeeeeally early tomorrow morning. I'm going to try to go to sleep very soon, but I've got caffeine and Sudafed ready to go for the long drive from Georgia. I've packed the following shirts, so if you see a 5'10", overweight, dark-haired white guy in any of them, it's me:

Blind Guardian 'The Forgotten Tales'
Deceased, green shirt, no back print
Nokturnal Mortum 'The Voice of Steel'
Necrophobic 'The Call'
Katatonia, tan 'Sounds of Decay' shirt
Queensryche, old logo
Negură Bunget 'Vîrstele Pamîntului'

Hope to see some of you there! Either way, THRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAASH!

Fucking stoked. Leaving tomorrow around noon. Maryland is like PA's backyard, so I'll be checking in before three, with plenty of time to get to the fest. If you see a guy with a shirt that says

"It blows my mind how absolutely gay Linkin Park is"

during anytime at the fest, that's me. Otherwise, I don't know what I'll be wearing. Probably a black shirt. haha

I will be wearing my denim jacket with a red Manilla Road backpatch so anyone who sees me can say hello if you wish or ignore me completely.. whatever you want to do. I will also have tapes and such to sell from my releases (see sig). I will only be bringing a handful of the Mortum discs which I highly recommend checking out. Anyway. I'm open to have a beer or go out to lunch with anyone looking to grab food and talk.

Yeah, looks like the best time and place is right before the first acts each day in the parking lot.

3-3:30 on friday, 12-12:30 on saturday and 1-1:30 on sunday.

Just mill around in front of the main entrance and try to look miserable and confused. Also consider wearing a sticker or nametag on your shirt with your MA screen name! For my part, I have long red hair and will be wearing plain, bright colored shirts of turquoise, mauve and light blue and will look confused and miserable.

Similar to Asphyx a couple years ago when they had the power pulled on them outside. Cool that both bands kept going until the end.

I thought they were decent. The sound was fucking terrible up at the barrier but I moved back and it got better. They also didn't play as much early stuff as I would have liked but I did enjoy their set. They were pretty enthusiastic about it, especially the vocalist.

Yeah, some early Hellbastard woulda been nice, but still a great performance filled with lots of "CUNT(S)" moments. We watched them from afar and it sounded great to me.

Bands I regret not seeing more of: Saint Vitus, Pentagram, YOB (the main room was wayyy too full), Ghoul, Noothgrush, Bethlehem (last few songs I caught were so fuckin' good).

Highlights for me were Church of Misery, Electric Wizard, Horna, Demigod and Disma. Mortuary Drape were rather amazing as well but I was tired and sat down the entire time for them.
