Tomorrow at 10:55 PM, I will begin fervently mashing my refresh button on your web page. I may have fucked up on the show organization thing (but hey, now you're playing MDF, which is better than what I could have gotten you!), but I won't let you down on ordering the shit out of this!

May I know what's in the 3CD set. I didn't find anything about its contents in the other thread or on the MA page.

I don't suppose there is a remaster of Destruction System, is there? Such a great album marred by the excessively loud drums.

Hey, so indeed I have ordered the shit out of this and they have arrived! But one question remains... what exactly is the tracklist on this release? I ask because while I know what SHOULD be included, I'm looking at 12 tracks on disc one and 13 on disc two... and both albums only had eight tracks to begin with! Add in the four bonus tracks, and there's still five unaccounted for. I haven't yet had a chance to listen to them, I'm just trying to figure out how to tag the tracks for my computer right now... but everything looks awesome!

Got mine today too. Set looks generally pretty good, haven't even played it yet. However... why CD-Rs rather than CDs? I'm not a fan of CD-Rs because of their durability and degradation issues, and even though these are nice pro-printed ones, I don't know that I would have paid the amount I did if I'd known in advance they weren't factory-pressed CDs.

In a general sense? There are plenty on YouTube. Doubt that any have been uploaded from this particular set though.

Question for the band - can we get an official track list? I'm kind of surprised to not see one on the CD set, and what is on here doesn't seem to exactly conform to the description on the band's site.

Here's what I have them tagged as:

Spectrum of Death
1. Lock up Your Children
2. Burned at the Stake
3. Assassin
4. Damien
5. Crying for Death
6. Spectrum of Death
7. Scars
8. Beyond the Gates of Hell
9. Intro
10. Death Before Dawn
11. Thrashaholic
12. Outro

Destruction System
1. Intro
2. Destruction System
3. Darkness Unseen
4. Depth of Sanity
5. Disciples of Discipline
6. Spectrum of Death II
7. Halls of Terror
8. Living Misery
9. Sign of the Times
10. Final Exit
11. Dying Day
12. Life's Blood
13. Outro

The ones labeled intro and outro are exactly that, I think. None of them include any vocals, they're all no more than a minute long, and they're all mostly spooky noises and feedback. I got the remainder of the tracklists from following along with the included lyric sheet in the booklet.

By the way, Destruction System sounds really great; I was very surprised at how polished and heavy it was. It sounds a bit more... Exhorder/Demolition Hammer-ish compared to the more Germanic sounds of the debut, if that makes any sense. The drums are a tad loud (you can fix it by EQing it more towards the treble), but the actual sound of them is very heavy, very much in the Clandestine vein of super-fat drum sounds.

$35+ shipping for 3 cdrs? What a rip off, good thing I didn't buy it since I have the keltic version already.

Was thinking the same thing. I mean, I love Morbid Saint and I'm all towards helping the band and all but $35+$17 to get CD-Rs, which apparently don't even come with a tracklist seems really off. For that price I would expect more, much more!

This is the exact track list for the 3cd set. We felt the order the songs where listed in the booklet would be sufficient, I guess we where wrong.
As far as them being on cdr's instead of cds, we didn't have a choice from the duplicator that we used. This is our fault and we apologize to those of you that feel we cheated you in some way. It is not our intention to rip off the few fans we do have so we are very sorry if you feel that way.
We hope you all continue to support the band and we will make sure if anything is released in the future, these issues will not arise.

Stay Morbid!!!!!!!

I just opened my copy as i'm writing this, and I can't believe my eyes. Did you guys make these on your home computers or have them pressed at an actual plant? And I realize that the third cd(r) takes up jewel case space, but there's not even a back tray inlay. Really? Is that what we all paid over $40 for? No shrinkwrap too. Oh i'm sorry, they're housed in a cd baggie with some tape. How much did this whole thing cost $8 each? The whole package looks like a bootleg....

Not a huge issue, but thanks for confirming. A back inlay with a track list would have been ideal though.

For me personally it's less about price than just knowing what I'm paying for. I vastly prefer factory-pressed CDs over CD-Rs. If you guys sell through these sets, I hope you'll either find a different duplicator to do another pressing, or farm it out to a label to handle - I know there have to be more than a couple that would gladly do it.

Can somebody take some pictures of the packaging so we know what we're dealing with here? I was interested in ordering this, but might hold off if the packaging is that bad.

Given the unfortunate screw-up with the CD-Rs, any chance there's a digital release on Bandcamp or something?

Are you seriously bitching about a lack of shrink-wrapping? From a release that comes directly from the band? I don't think I've ever ordered a disc direct from the band and had it come shrink-wrapped...

The CDR situation is unfortunate, but for what it's worth, they appear to be quality CDRs. Not like they just out and bought some Memorex discs to burn off their PCs or whatever.

The tracklisting was only confusing because I'm a huge dork who didn't look at track times to see that, indeed, the unlabeled tracks were intros/outros. And Spectrum of Death II is totally listed in the booklet as an instrumental, despite it not being part of Destruction System as listed here on MA. As far as I can see, aside from the intro/outro bit, there's nothing wrong at all with the packaging. Plus, you're getting new material, and the funds all go directly to the band. None of this royalty-free bootleg nonsense. That being said, yeah, the price is a few dollars higher than I'd like... but I'm also going to be playing the hell out of these discs, which for a money:entertainment-time analysis comes out favorably enough.

I've not even received my copy yet (I'm in the UK, so it'll take longer) but I've got to admit that I'm no longer looking forward to receiving it from the descriptions of the package here. It sounds really disappointing from what people are saying.

There's no way I'd have forked out $50 of my hard earned cash (inclusive of shipping) for a few CDrs and a booklet, no matter what the band - especially when it's not how it was described (or looked) at all. Not even a back inlay? Surely that's a basic part of a CD package? If I'd known before hand that the material was on CDrs, I'd have steered well clear - just cause I know that anytime in the next few years, they're likely not to work any more (as I've learned from the majority of my collection of official band demos on CDrs of which, some of the late 90s, early 00's ones are now nothing more than pretty beer coasters). I'm all for supporting bands I love, believe me - but come on. Guess I'll reserve full judgment for when it arrives to see if I've got my moneys worth.

It does state that they're sealed on their site, as this is the reason they were unable to sign any copies. Doesn't mention shrink wrap though.

Here are pics for those who want to see. 3 discs in a triple disc jewel case. Because of the way it's got a disc in the back tray, you can't have an inlay there. Discs are CD-Rs and a DVD-R, but are pro-printed (no home-printed disc labels or anything, they look and feel nice from the front). Booklet is the best part - 8 panel folder style, nice glossy print on standard inlay stock. Lyrics included for all songs.

I don't know. The CDRs look alright, and the packaging is sort of whatever. What is the audio quality like?

These are printed on cd-rs, that was our choice.
I assure you, these are very high quality cd-rs and we did not do these at home on a computer.
It was actually more expensive to do it this way but it was the only way to guarantee that the duplicator would not mess with anything on the disc's.
We have had our material misrepresented in the past and we did not want that to happen again.
As far as packaging, I'm sorry they are not shrink wrapped, but this is how they were sealed.
Ribos is right, because of the back disc we could not have a back insert.
We used this case because we knew we would have a bunch of international orders and wanted to keep the cost of shipping as low as we could. USPS has limits to how thick the envelope can be. We used this case so if someone ordered more than one copy, they wouldn't get killed on shipping. This case allows us to ship up to 5 sets for the same price.
This is coming straight from the band, we are not a big company that probably gets very good prices to produce a 3 disc set and ship it.
We did our best to put together a collection of material we hoped everyone would be happy with, we figured it was about content not packaging.
We apologize but this is how we had to do it.

Stay Morbid!!!!!

Jim

Well, if you provide a physical master, a replicating plant will not modify your master. A replication is just that...they make a glass master off your physical master. Perhaps this happened back in the analog master days or if the label provided the plant with the digital files instead of the physical master but this wouldn't happen now if you are providing a master.

I would love to buy an LP version of this but after the Incantation LP fiasco through Relapse and the crappy Convulse LP version they did, I'll pass on that. If you're interested in doing a high quality CD release, let me know. No 20 page contracts, no bullshit.
