New album is entitled Yellow & Green (I see the originality is still there in the titles ;)). Anyway, rather excited for this album being that it's been a few years since their last release. Let's try to keep the "hipster" accusations that tend to get thrown at this band at a minimal here as well.

I'd actually hoped they'd stick with a single colour per album title - I see they couldn't keep it up. Nonetheless, I like listening to Baroness when I'm feeling in the mood for something which is quirky, so this is good news.

I guess it's better than calling it Piss & Puke.

Honestly, these guys have never done anything for me, though I'll still give the album a chance.

It will be a double album, so they are still keeping it up.

I hope they can manage to do a good double album, it's not a simple thing to do. I liked Blue Record a lot, so we'll see.

Loved everything they've done so far, so this is certainly a priority. I wonder if they will continue to distance themselves from metal or decide to go closer back to it.

Wohoo! I love the Blue Record, nice to hear from them again.

I loved everything they have done so far aswell, so this is good news :D
and to hear, that it is a double album even more so... I wonder if the two parts will be a lot different from each other - which would be an interesting thing to hear.
anyhow, I'm looking forward to it.

I am a big fan of these guys and I love listening to their stuff on vinyl. I like both the Red and Blue about the same. Nice to see they want to experiment more. Hopefully we will get a single soon.

We'll see how it is. I'm not at all a sludge metal fan (The Ocean is the only one I like), and I'm not a Baroness fan, but I'll still definitely check it out.

I wasn't huge on Blue Record, I hope this album is better.

I really don't think this band has topped First. for me, everything after was a gradual decline in quality and of my interest. I only got up to the Red album... I wasn't thrilled with that one... blue less so... this I'll give it a listen and probably feel the same as well.

I just learned about this yesterday because I was reading Juxtapoz magazine and the main guy was talking about his new art for the new album. Really like that early EP with the "Towers Fall" song. Other than that none of their stuff really grabbed me. I'll check this out for sure, but the fact that its a double album has me a bit sceptical. I find that about 90% of the times a band releases a double album, it would have been much better if they took the best songs from each disk and released it as a normal album.

The only double album that I truely liked just about every single song on it was Smashing Pumpkins's mellon collie and the infinite sadness

I've been digging the two albums they have right now and although this is released five days after my birthday, I now have something to look forward to when I turn 22. :P Usually I'd be weary of double albums but I imagine this one will do justice.

Thanks for sharing.

I've never listened to Baroness but I like what I am hearing so if I can get it at my record store I would get it.

The Artwork is the best so far, Red album artwork looks weak in comparison.

I like this band a lot. They have a great sound and a great visual concept like Mastodon use to have until they went total Hipster-fags, lets hope they stay heavy and keep with their own mythology.

Please don't use stupid insults like "hipster fags", it makes you sound like a 15 years old Deicide fan who think they're edgy as fuck because Benton has an inverted cross on his forehead.

Such a stupid term... Nobody knows what it means. :???:

Anyhow, although I thought Blue Record was decent, I have to say I'm more impressed with this band's artwork than their music.

I've enjoyed everything they've put out so far. I, too, probably like "First" best but i'm definitely excited to hear some more new stuff. Being a double album named using colors that, when combined, create the color of their previous album... I wonder if there is any significance there in how the records will sound. Maybe one album will lean more towards the heavier songs on "Blue" and one will lean more towards the experimental rock vibe they've been incorporating more of over the past couple albums.

Sounds interesting, especially the vocals, which don't have that shouted style of the previous two albums.

BTW. who the hell is plating Bass in this, is that the old Guy, but with a hair cut!?

Hmmm, that sample was interesting. The vocals were cool, but I kinda prefer the hardcore-lite vocals of Red and Blue, not to mention the original vocals. Overall it doesn't strike me as overly interesting. Good, but doesn't spark like the previous stuff. I'll still buy it. Besides, I've known plenty examples where the sample was the worst song/least displayed the sound of the album.

Anyone calling Baroness, Mastadon, etc "hipster" can fuck off. You don't even know what hipster means. I mean, at least beardcore is funny, but shit.

That song does indeed sound promising.
In terms of the coverart tho, I agree with some people who say, that the green is not contrasted enough...

Meh, I have mixed feelings about this... doesn't sound that interesting and softer, then the previous albums, I hope it's ether a grower, or the other songs are better :)

Must say I enjoy the new vocal style... It fits their sound much better. Don't know what I think of the song yet, it's good, but.

On the other hand the song sounds loud, as in brick-walled! not good.

Hmm, interesting. The music is softer, but I'm fine with that. The clean vocals sometimes work, but at other times, don't. I seriously hope relationships don't become a lyrical theme on the album. I want epic biblical themes, some weird rye farmer shit, not details of relationships. And the chorus lyrics aren't too good. "Take my bones away, I'll find them everyday", sounds like they ran out of ideas.

Not too bad, probably will still buy it. I'm going too see them live next week, so maybe they'll pull out a second track. Perhaps that will be the verdict.

Stuff of that song sounding like Nickelback is not only on Youtube comments, it's on other metal communities as well  I've yet to hear it though, so can't comment on it much yet.
