I've been into death metal for eight years, but this is actually the first Dying Fetus-anything I've ever heard, oddly enough.

Not bad, but not anything spectacular to my ears either.

Missing out, man! You gotta check out the Grotesque Impalement EP.

Excited for the new album.

I don't think they'll ever top Destroy The Opposition. What a sick fucking album that was.

Bah, down with the naysayers. I liked Descend into Depravity a lot, and I don't understand the shit that War of Attrition gets either. So I'm pumped for this release.

But fuck, does the cover art suck...

Actually, I rather liked that cover art. The whole image of depravity worked for me.

They're sick live, always a fun show. I'll be seeing them next month, actually.

Teaser sounded good, I'm enjoying the sound of the vocals on it. Have to see what the full thing sounds like. They haven't really disappointed me yet!

I quite like the album art, somewhat reminiscent of scream bloody gore.

It basically just sounds like Dying Fetus, which is great. I'm looking forward to this album and possibly seeing them live next month. Descend Into Depravity was killer and it sounds like this album will be as well.

I have never been a huge fan, but this sounds better than their last album in my opinion. I hope the rest turns out this good.

I like how John is actually pronouncing words now instead of cum gurgling like a retard. I never really had a problem with John's vocals except for the fact that he never actually pronounced words. I also like how Sean's vocals turned out as well, very pissed off sounding. It sounds like he's growling more now for some reason, his voice changed, but in a good way.

"Subjected to a Beating" - haha, that's even worse a title than "Followed Home Then Killed"

Not a bad song itself, though.

I agree with Deathstalker1985 in this album art is better than Descend into Depravity... that cover looked like a generic action shooter game you would find in a bargin bin at walmart. utterly terrible and uninspired. I like this art for this cover... but for a different band, it looks almost too much to Suffocation's Blood Oath to me at a glance and looking further it is just the generic brutal death gory highly detailed art... it looks great but it doesn't work for me with dying fetus. I miss the days of their cut and paste political collages. Even stop at nothing and war of attrition were fitting and still in line with that.

Oh yea, I'll pick this up.

A little bit different, but still a Dying Fetus sound. I might be picking this up.

Only good change is good, and it often isn't good.

Also, where is the politically edged cover art? That's why that cover art sucks, imo. Unless the album isn't political? I guess it makes sense if that's the case.

Wow, that was really good! Another one for the list of records to get then... well, since I like everything else they've released I didn't have any doubts, but anyway! Wonder how long it will take before the nay-sayers start complaining about "too much rap/hip-hop influence". :-P

It's not bad. Granted, Dying Fetus is kinda hard for me to get into, but I did like Descend into Depravity.

Heh, I feel the same way about John Tardy's laughably bad vocals, Obituary might be regurgitating a halfway decent stolen Celtic frost riff, and then all you hear is "Eyahauerhauaha". Anyways, from what I gathered from the sample it sounds like the hardcore parts of Destroy the Opposition. This may be the best they've done since War of attrition

DF are one of the better groovy DM bands, though I haven't actually heard anything other than KOA. New song is great.

I can't help but be reminded of the "Reign Supreme" song off Waking the Cadaver's newest, haha.

I like what I hear. They've yet to top Destroy the Opposition in my mind, but they're still a consistently good band and I look forward to this release.

On a side note, and I the only one who thinks Stop at Nothing is underrated? I haven't really heard people speak about it much, and if they have, they didn't have many good things to say about it. I spin that one as much as KoA or DtO.

I know this hasn't been posted in for forever, but I think this is worth bringing it back up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzFYOUQ8 ... ture=g-u-u

Full album preview: Based on the previews, this sounds fucking monstrous. I knew this was going to be good, but holy shit. I really like the melodic part of "From womb to waste". I hope that we can hear more of that on the album. I remember listening to an interview with Trey, where he said one of the real standout things from this album is the more melodic soloing, which makes me really excited. Been a long tome Fetus' fan, and for me, they've yet to disappoint.

The previews sound killer as is the Subjected to a Beating.

Never been a fan of their stuff on CD much but seen them live a few times and really enjoyed them, may have to listen to them again I think!

Well I just listened to Subjected to a Beating. I'm very dissapointed...it doesn't even sound like Dying Fetus. Sounds like the generic death metal I hear on the radio.

Meh, boring. Dying Fetus is pretty much the band that got me into death metal, so I do owe them quite a bit. But this is just completely uninteresting. Overused groove and tremelo riffs, and the tapping/sweeped minors are just there at this point. I probably won't buy it, unless I listen to a few tracks first.

Song is crushingly brutal. Typical Dying Fetus, not a bad thing at all. I'm definitely buying this new album for sure.

Nearly made me spit out my drink with laughter. That is fucking funny and such an apt description of bad death metal vocals.

They released another new song today, "Second Skin".

Pretty damn brutal, looks like this is going to be another great album. So far I'm liking what I've heard of this album more than Descend Into Depravity.

Whoah, I actually like this. First Aborted, then Cattle Decapitation, and now Dying Fetus. It's like all of these brutal death/technical/grind bands are going out of their way to make music I like.

That snare drum is just lol. Sounds like he's playing a milk crate. Stupid lyrics aside and drums aside, it's not bad.

Snare doesn't sound that bad to me. Doesn't quite have that "crack" that I prefer, but it's more natural sounding than I initially expected in comparison to other modern production jobs and it could have very easily gone that way. Digging where the bass sits in the mix, too. As for the song itself, it stretches out a little more than the typical DF structure but still relentless. Really liked Descend Into Depravity but this could definitely surpass that album as one of their stronger releases in some time, and that's fine by me.
