Kemilon - Twisted Storm

It was cheap, so I bought it. Turned out to be a good choice, because I blind-bought myself a nice slab of well-executed Quebecois power metal with mid-ranged vocals.

Now that I'm having a bit more cash flow, I've hit the record shops twice this week. A few days ago I picked up

Cannibal Corpse - Vile
Cannibal Corpse - Gore Obsessed
Cannibal Corpse - The Wretched Spawn
Archgoat - The Light-Devouring Darkness
Rush - Caress of Steel

And just this afternoon I got:

Terrorizer - World Downfall
Aura Noir - Black Thrash Attack

Not too shabby! I'm planning to save up to buy an amplifier for my turntable and then start buying more vinyl.

The picture of the Panopticon/Skagos split made me salivate. Two terrific bands. "Ast" was such a good album. Also: Seeing Rush - Moving Pictures on here has had me humming "Limelight" and "YYZ" all evening.

Pretty floored by this:

krokmiten: alpha-beta

only found out about it 20mins ago. listened to 4 parts of the cd since it's one 47 min track that's divided up into 18 parts name wise... but the 4 parts I listened to all flowed together very nicely in 11 mins. bought it pretty much immediately after that.

I've slowed down my CD buying over the past month and a half. I've allowed myself Riot's Fire Down Under and Accept's Russian Roulette, I'm trying to put a bit more thought and research into what I purchase.

This band is great, one of the few "Emotional Hardcore" bands I like. I've had the mp3s from their bandcamp forever and I'm hopefully going to get the CD when I see them in a couple weeks. Glad to see this band being mentioned.

It's pretty great I think! The only other album I have by them is Time Waits for No Slave, and I like Utilitarian better so far. There's some really cool experimentation too (like a sax solo) but it's infrequent enough that if you're not into it that much it shouldn't really affect what you think of the album as a whole.

^^^Utilitarian is one of my favorites to come out this year. No filler from start to finish. Napalm Death sound angrier and more focused then ever.

Placed all my pre orders

Allegaeon - Form Shifter
Cattle Decapitation - Monolith Of Inhumanity
Fear Factory - Industrialist
Float Face Down - Exitium Verum
Gojira - L'Enfant Sauvage
Kreator - Phantom Antichrist
Rush - Clockwork Angels
Shadows Fall - Fire From The Sky
Six Feet Under - Undead
Whitechapel - Whitechapel

How is the Paniopticon/Skagos split? I've heard most of Skagos' other releases, but haven't gotten around to this one yet.

Picked up a few in the last few weeks:

Into Eternity - The Scattering of Ashes
Neurosis - Short Wave Warfare
Peccatum - The Moribund People
Ulver - Themes From William Blake's Marriage of Heaven and Hell
Yngwie Malmsteen - Marching Out
Yngwie Malmsteen - Rising Force
Yngwie Malmsteen - Trilogy

Amazon had the Malmsteen discs for $5.00 a piece brand new. The rest I picked up used for decent prices.
