James LaBrie- One More Time.

Just love the whole clean LaBrie/ screaming Wildoer combination.

The Slow Death - Sickness

Oh shit, oh shit, this is exactly the kind of melodic death/doom metal I've been craving!

Judas Priest - Freewheel Burning

I'd be kind of interested in hearing a version of this song with the original drums taken out and replaced by Scott Travis, as long as they can make the sound of the drums sort of fit and not be blatantly modern sounding.

Grand Magus - Like The Oar Strikes The Water

Some of the most commanding, proud and loud stuff I've heard as of late. Time to add this album to my "Metal at it's Purest" list along with the likes of Hibria's Defying the Rules and Messiah's Kiss' Dragonheart.

Terrifyingly crushing.

Great song. That album is so fucking heavy. Never lets up. Crushing is exactly right. Oppressively heavy funeral doom. Aural dread. Loved every second of it. For my money, of all the Lovecraftian-influenced metal (and there are heaps and mounds of it), "In The Depths of R'yleh" comes closest to fully representing the feeling/imagery of Lovecraft's prose and style.

Couldn't agree more. :metal:

Tribulation - The Vampyre :headbang:

Absolutely killer death metal with hints of blackened thrash. The Horror rips!

I love that album. Too bad the one they released after was much weaker.

Emperor - Alsvartr (The Oath)

Emperor are a bit hit and miss for me, but their first two albums I generally find the most enjoyable.

Agreed. I've love to hear more of these guys.

NP: Paradise Lost - The Glorious End

Powerful stuff. Some guitar melodies here definitely give me a Draconian Times vibe.

Benediction - Certified

I'm really enjoying death-metal just now - I'm finally managing to be fully absorbed by, and genuinely appreciate, many more aspects of it than I used to.

The Quill - Voodoo Caravan, off the record of the same name

Seeing how Magnus Ekwall (the singer) participated in Ayreon's The Human Equation, I decided to check his band out. Pretty cool groovy stoner metal, with a healthy dose of Soundgarden influence to boot. Me likes.

Antaeus - Colliding in Ashes

Blistering and raw. "Blood Libels" is one of the most intense and brutal albums. You literally feel beat down and exhausted after listening to it. But it's a good kind of hurt. :)

That's the first Fate song I heard. I found it laughable and it put me off checking out more of their stuff. I still think it's one of their weakest from the first two albums.
