Reverend Bizarre - Cirith Ungol. These guys know how to play a riff forever and not have it sound boring. More people should listen to them because they're awesome.

Yet again. Surely one of the best this year so far.

Italian doom act The Foreshadowing? I really dug the style of their debut but couldn't ever get into it, is their latest any different?

Grand Magus - I, The Jury

:headbang: :metal:

These guys are fucking awesome! Stunning metal, that you can't help but be caught up in. Solid, and bloody great riffs, low-end magic, thundering drums, and a vocalist who, at times, sound like a perfect blend of Rob Halford and Layne Staley. Cracked a Hoegaarden and rockin' out.

Krallice - "Cnestorial"

I don't mind me some tremolo-wankery every once in awhile, and the amazing little repeating riff that comes in around the 5:42 mark makes this song worth listening to again and again.

We saw them on our first Hellfest (2007!) and I was not impressed at all. Trying to get more into the band now.

W.A.S.P - Crazy

I've been listening to a W.A.S.P album every day. I'm about to run out. The quality of the material seems to have picked up a little bit after The Neon God albums.

Great song. That album is so fucking heavy. Never lets up. Crushing is exactly right. Oppressively heavy funeral doom. Aural dread. Loved every second of it. For my money, of all the Lovecraftian-influenced metal (and there are heaps and mounds of it), "In The Depths of R'yleh" comes closest to fully representing the feeling/imagery of Lovecraft's prose and style.

"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

Funeral Mist - The Devil's Emissary

One of the black metal bands that I'm really enjoying at the moment - they have a certain, rather evil, je ne sais quoi.
