Specifically, something akin to this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Hy-F6pMPo8

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP9R3VKJM38

I love how classically this flows; the way it changes from major to minor so easily, and throws you with unpredictable but fitting chords. If there's any other black metal (whether it be viking, DBM, atmospheric, whatever) like this then make sure to recommend it.

Maybe Blut Aus Nord's conventional BM works would fit your request. This song undergoes some interesting key changes.

Already heard most of Immortal's new stuff, which is great, but not quite what I'm looking for. But close.
1349 was good too, but could do with a bit more clarity IMO, for what I'm looking for. I enjoy it, but I really have to listen hard to get anything out of it. Although the bit at 3:30 is very nice.

Yeah, I stumbled on Slagbjørn by chance on hearing the song I linked, and picked up their EP about a week later. Fantastic band, even though they only have 3 songs atm.

I've heard pretty much all of BaN's discography. MV II was great. Still, I'd prefer something more "epic", if you know what I mean.

As much as the songwriting itself is great, I feel the prod isn't. Although I checked out their "III" album just now and I'd have to say I really like it.

Yes you would be right the production is not the best mate but I think it adds to atmosphere. The albums were all released by himself with no record company for backing, production maybe suffered because of this, glad you liked them Syntek.

If you can overlook the production, Vlad Tepes fits perfectly. If you can't look past the production check this awesome rendition instead. Otherwise check out the first Sworn album, Sargeist, or Obtained Enslavement maybe?

Even though Vlad Tepes wasn't that great prod wise, I found it easy to slip into a kind of trve kvlt-induced trance while listening to it because of the awesome songwriting.
Sworn I actually found a bit more plain to begin with, but as I listened more I really began to love it. Same goes with Sargeist.
Obtained Enslavement I wasn't so keen on, but it was still certainly in the vein of what I was looking for.

Svikt was good, but I wasn't really aiming for that atmosphere specifically. Or if not that, something about them doesn't click with me. But still, I'll make note of them.

I bet you will love this Nargaroth song.

This Forest song is another great one.

This S.V.E.S.T. song is another awesome epic. Their production may have a bit too much fuzz for you though but I think it adds to the atmosphere very well.
