Sólstafir - Köld

very first listen of this particular album, i'm digging it so far, moreso than masterpiece of bitterness, perhaps i'm weird.

Really great band. I never them mentioned around these parts.

Snowgrave made a thread about their new album some months ago, it was largely unnoticed :(

Köld was my favorite album of 2009, so great.

Carcass-Heartwork

First time hearing the album. Time to see what it's all about.

"Dragging A Dead Dear Up A Hill" -
Grouper

Portland seems to be full of little surprises like Liz Harris here. I wonder if twenty years from now if that part of the world will hold any significance to music history.

Darkthrone - Atomic Coming

At the moment, I'm listening to Darkthrone's later material more than their early stuff, although I plan on listening to Soulside Journey and Transylvanian Hunger today at some point.

The Devil's Blood - Feverdance

This album has mellowed out my afternoon slightly, granting slight relief from my toil of reading Sociology articles with no pictures in them.

Virgin Steele - I Will Come for You

LOST CLOUDS OF REASON, FALLS HOPE BURNING SEASON - A GODLESS LIEEEEEEEEEEE

One of DeFeis' best vocal moments for real. He sounds so passionate during these verses.

Om - "On the Mountain at Dawn"

Trance-inducing. I've been listening to their discography on repeat for weeks now. Bass and drums. What a sound! Al Cisneros is incredible.

It should be noted that Persona 4 is a video game that an anime was made from... but that video game is one of the greatest of all time, so no harm, no foul.

The Foreshadowing - Second World

Yet again. Surely one of the best this year so far.
