Gargoyle-Out From The Shadows

First time hearing this. Another case of 'Why didn't I hear this before?'

Heathen - Arrows of Agony

This album's cool and all, but I'm not getting much of a thrashy vibe from it.

Heathen always were a band more about flashy guitar playing and intricate songwriting rather than thrashing madness, so it's not surprising you feel that way. That doesn't mean they are any less great though.

Psychotic Waltz - Disturbing the Priest (Black Sabbath cover), off Into the Everflow

I like this a bit more than the original, mostly because the production isn't nearly as pathetic, and as if that weren't enough, Devon Graves/Buddy Lackey nails Gillan's vocal performance down to a T.

Wodensthrone - First Light

Beautiful... I wasn't sure how the new album was going to sound, but now I know. It's fantastic.

Summoning - Khazad Dum

Dol Guldur sounds a little bit more upbeat than Minas Morgul - nonetheless, I think I like it.

I've always wondered, what is it with black metal groups and those retarded stage names? It's pretty damn stupid.

Heathen would be worth listening to if their vocalist didn't suck.

Dol Guldur is my least favorite of theirs, actually. It kind of transitions between Minas Morgul and their later material, and has a bit of an identity crisis as a result.

That sounds about right. It's solid, but it feels a bit "awkward", perhaps. I definitely agree with the transitional-stage thing.

Just finished listening to Obtained Enslavement's Centuries of Sorrow album.

Allegaeon - Twelve Vals for the Legions

New track off the new album premiered today. It's basically the Biomech of this album.

Type O Negative - Wolf Moon

Type O are probably my favourite discovery of the year so far, along with Summoning, Falkenbach and Black Breath. So much metal out there just waiting for me to come along and listen to it...

Right now I'm on that song; I've been listening to the whole album nonstop for about an hour.

Well the album is 1 hour and BWP is the last song...So I don't know what's "nonstop" about that.
