I've actually never heard SFU before this. This isn't really bad at all, I assume their back catalogue is a lot worse. Barnes sounds awwwful though. That aside though, this is pretty well executed modern death metal. And the production rules, so they've definitely got that going for them.

EDIT: Referring to 18 Days, "Formaldehyde" isn't my cup of tea, even if it isn't all that different. Barnes' vocals really ruin that one.

On Chris's twitter, he said that the new guitarist wrote all of the songs on this album, so aside from the vocals, Im thinking it'll sound a little different than the others. To me, it sounds a little more.."complex". Then again, most of the songs have been simple.

First time I hear a SFU song without wanting to claw my ears off out of sheer boredom. I might even check this out when it leaks (in YouTube, I mean). Chris doesn't sound particularly good though, although that's to be expected from him.

Please, I'm trying to forget their covers...

If it's more stuff like "Shot In the Head," I'll be happy.

Wow, that was unexpected. I expected it to be boring, just in a different way. But make no mistake, its still booooooring. Watching paint dry or grass grow is more exciting than listening to this.

I listened to the whole album today. It certainly isn't a bad album, just not good, if that makes sense. It dispelled some of the myths I originally had about Six Feet Under and I think a lot of folks are going to call Undead the best thing Barnes has done since The Bleeding. Still not my thing though. :)

After hearing the samples, it feels like Chris is a bit out of place, though he's been like that a while. Feels like maximum violence was, where the guitars feel different.

Listened to the whole album and being a fan, it feels..different. Not nearly as catchy as the other stuff though. Depths of Depravity is probably my favorite song.

My connection is a little too shitty to listen to all of the video you posted but I tried it on GrooveShark... not there. turns out there must be a song called Formaldehyde by Nirvana. unless it was a fake.

If you're using firefox, you could download the youtube downloader. I did that and it only took a few seconds.

Meh... the first song they released was okay, but the second one is still just cookie cutter DM with the cookie monster himself.

Admittedly the faster parts are much better. He should have done a Barnse-era Cannibal Corpse style album.

I think that they're going to top Death Rituals with this one. . . this is better than anything they've released in a while. Blast beats and pinch harmonics galore

In other words, just be about the money.

Not a bad song but nothing amazing, but I'll have to listen to the whole album before I completely believe SFU can put out good stuff.
