Jesus, until I wikipedia'd it, I thought that was the dude from Grand Magus singing. I've been a fan of Small since Home Movies, but with Dethklok, and now this, I can't tell if he can even tell if he's making fun of metal. It has that goofiness to it that reminds me of some of Devin Townsend's stuff, so I suppose it's possible to be ... sincerely ironic? Ironically sincere? Hell if I know.

NP: Nile's "Serpent Headed Mask" in anticipation of Friday's show.

Bathory - Liberty and Justice

With only two-and-a-half albums left, I'm going to have to find a new band to listen to chronologically soon.

I don't think he's making fun of it with this album, I just know that the lyrics are supposed to be humorous like most of his stuff. And I too had to wikipedia the vocals, I didn't think he could actually sing like that.

Burzum - Key to the Gate

Been listening to Burzum more lately. Not sure if this a band that appeals to me.

I used to despise Burzum's music. Then I heard Varg's post-prison material in depth, and thought, "Well, the music's not bad, even if the guy's still a douchepizzle". Then I took a chance and heard HLTO, and it became one of my favourite BM albums.

Unisonic - Never Too Late

Really reminds me of Gamma Ray's Time To Break Free. This is going to take a while to get out of my head.

Melechesh - Purifier of the Stars

Damn, I've been on such a Melechesh binge ever since I read a few chapters of a book on Sumerian mythology in between classes today.

Bathory - Nordland

There's no doubt in my mind that the Nordland albums are the best albums of Quorthon's career. The song itself is immensely powerful, and it always keeps me going.

Vektor - Venus Project

Insane, much like the rest of the album. Listening to it with few distractions really hammers home how much is going on in the song. So many layers.

Anhedonist - Netherwards

Just arrived from Dark Descent after about two days, which is the greatness I've come to expect from DD. Three tracks in and this is pretty much another example of why I buy everything from this label. Awesome.
