Abramelin-Spiritual Justice

I love these guys just after hearing this song, fuck those vocals are powerful on par with that guy from Infester. Someone kick my ass for not checking these guys out sooner.

Nokturnal Mortum - Валькирия (Valkyrie)

Wow, the sound quality on the vinyl is among the best I have ever heard. So much better than the cd version of this album. Just wow...!

Orden Ogan - This Is

And to think I checked this band out on a "meh, might be cool" whim. Turns out they'd go on to become one of my favourite Teutonic power metal bands based on the strength of their last two albums alone.

Summoning - Flesh and Blood

Fucking epic! especially the Braveheart "Battle of Stirling" sample at the end.

Steel Prophet - To Grasp Eternity

Never thought I would ever find someone close in sound to John Arch until I listened to Steel Prophet's Rick Mythiasin, that is. The latter is more versatile than the former though.

Type O Negative - Christian Woman

This really sounds like nothing else in my music collection. It's so dream-like and sensual.

Upon a Burning Body - Once Upon a Time In Mexico

A track off their upcoming new album (which I've just found out about), which I'm actually enjoying. This is one of the few deathcore bands I can really get into, probably because they don't waste their time with endless chugging and breakdowns. I wonder if there are any more like this...

Just finished redownloading this godlike album since my iPod didn't want to read it the first time.

Bathory - Blood on Ice

Last time I listened to this album all the way through, I was standing on top of a windswept hill at 4am. The setting is more mundane this time, but the album is still epic.

Atoma - Skylight

As some of you might know, Atoma is the follow up band of Death/doom outfit Slumber. While I absolutely love Slumbers only album Fallout, I'm afraid I can't say the same thing about Skylight. It tries to be super immersive and emotional, but falls flat on it's ass trying.

Murder in the front row
Crowd begins to bang
And there's blood upon the stage
Bang you head against the stage
And metal takes it's price
Bonded by blood

Death Tax - Municipal Waste

Got Fatal Feast a few days ago. Really awesome record. I can easily listen to it all without skipping a track. Every song has something interesting.

Eddie Trunk Live on that Hair Nation XM channel. I must be addicted to his personality and enthusiasm, because I never listen to most of the sorts of rock and metal played or discussed on this show. I mean, right now he's talking about Great White and LA Guns, and I can't figure out why I give a shit. Maybe it's nostalgia for my high schools days, which is to say: when I listened to terrible, terrible music.

Though Trunk is good friends with Mike Piazza, and when he sits in, they get more into 'metal' talk.
