Dark Forest - Land of the Evening Star

His debut album was excellent, and I am sure this will be great to!

Don't know about the music but that cover art is seriously one of the best I've ever seen! It would look perfect in vinyl format.

The artwork is great indeed! Just like the cover of his first album:

Be sure to check out the music, I love it myself.

Buried_Death: The NM vinyl was released by Osmose Productions a few weeks ago. That's where I bought it!

100% Original, paid 50 bucks for a lot of 5 CDs (including the 2 Vital Remains CDs and 2 others not listed here) where the Illdisposed was included, unfortunately the seller misspelled the band name so it seems there were not many people that were watching this auction :-)

forestcorpse, as soon as I read the osmose newsletter and read about the Nokturnal Mortum vinyl, I was sure you were going to buy it. It is beautiful but for the moment I am satisfied with my CD version of this masterpiece.

Valhalla! Finally I can call myself the proud owner of a copy of Pyrexia - Sermon of Mockery (Pathos edition). Bought this cd
for my best friend in 1999, but was never able to obtain my own copy of this great NYDM album (excellent Suffocation clone). Found it on eBay, costed me only 45 dollars, which is pretty cheap. Saw the same thing going for 125 dollars some months ago.

In addition, I bought myself the following cds:

The Dead Youth - Intense Brutality (old school primitive death metal from 1991, not too good but still enjoyable)
Belial - Never Again (re-issue)
Thou Shalt Suffer - Into the Woods of Belial (re-issue)
Stargazer - A Great Work of Ages
Utumno - Across the Horizon (re-issue)
Unanimated - In the Forest of the Dreaming Dead (re-issue)
Unanimated - Ancient God of Evil (re-issue)
Aura Noir - Black Thrash Attack (re-issue)
Edge of Sanity - The Spectral Sorrows

Still has to arrive:

Timeghoul - 1992-1994 Discography
Deranged - The Redlight Murder Case
Impetigo - Horror Of The Zombies (re-issue)

Not too impressed by Unanimated (poor man's Dissection) and Utumno (poor man's Edge of Sanity meets Entombed), despite all the hyped kvltness.

:ugh: I've wanted Sermon of Mockery for the longest time, but I can't find a copy for less than 100$ which is bullshit. Great buy and Unanimated suck

Anyway, you bought the Regain Records reissues right? I haven't bought them myself for fear of a bad remastering process, so can you shed some light on that matter please?

Yay, a postcard! :-P

I'm glad I saw this. I had no idea they were offering a deal like that, and I actually just went on their official site and nabbed up one of the last remaining sets for myself.

That said, I had to go with XL for the shirts since I'm apparently late to the party...hopefully it'll be like that too-large Symphony X shirt that I was able to shrink in the wash. Fortunately, CDs and autographs are one-size-fits-all.

Sorry if I got anyone elses hopes up. It seemed too good to be true from the beginning and as usual this has held true.

Alas, too good to be true.

Actually I got a shipping confirmation email, complete with tracking number for mine. 10 band-new CDs for 70% off and with free shipping, totalling about $35.

Another copy of Kamelot's Dominion. Not their greatest album, but this is an original (probably has the same sound, but the artwork is a bit different). My other copy is a reissue (though, any edition of this album is pretty hard to find...probably Kamelot's most elusive album).

Bought the new Hour of Penance at the show a couple of nights ago. Bought it from Giulio and even briefly discussed how the newest Fleshgod had the symphonics too loud and not enough good riffs . Liking the album so far, definitely a worthy entry in HoP's discography.

this post just made me realize there is no one from Hour Of Penance in Fleshgod Apocalypse at the moment, weird.. Thought FGA included more than 1 HoP members, apparently its just Paoli that used to do vocals in HoP..

Amorphis - The Beginning of Times
Asphyx - Deathhammer
Borknagar - Urd
Nekromantheon - Rise, Vulcan Spectre
Nokturnal Mortum - Golos Stali (The Voice of Blood)
Overkill - The Electric Age

All fucking solid albums, but the one that towers about the rest is definitely the Nokturnal Mortum album. Holy shit, where has that album been my entire life?! I don't even know what to say about it. It's just perfect.

'Deathhammer' is a fine chunk of death/doom that satisfies my craving for that sound. Asphyx are a cool bunch of dudes. I met Alwin a few times at MDF 2010 (they were staying at the same hotel as us), and he was super nice and humble, and my friend and I ran into Martin whilst walking to our hotel at MDF last year. He was pretty funny, talking about needing to exchange his money for USD and getting some women, haha.

'Urd' is definitely my favorite Borknagar album since 'Empiricism'. I found 'Universal' oddly unlistenable, but with this album, they brought back a certain mystique, and an alluring sense of melody that evokes cosmic images and thoughts of bygone times (and times yet to come).

'Rise, Vulcan Spectre' is the first studio album I've heard by Nekromantheon, who impressed me quite a bit with their thrashing madness at MDF 2010. The album does not disappoint at all. Not sure that all the vocals needed reverb, but when the riffwork is that solid, I'm not complaining.

'The Electric Age' was my most anticipated album of the bunch, but strangely it's received the least attention from me. Listened to it once through, was happy with what I heard, then moved on. Looking forward to seeing the 'kill next month, for sure.

Haven't yet listened to all of 'The Beginning of Times', but it seems like a quality Amorphis album. Maybe a bit more growth from the last album would have been nice, but whatever, the music's good, and I like the lyrics a lot (Amorphis rarely let me down there).

All great albums. I really want to add some Arsis to my collection.

This week I got;

Say Hello to Tragedy by Caliban (heard it was decent metalcore)
Signs of My Existence by myGrain (my old case broke so I had to get a new one)
Far Beyond Driven by Pantera (CD got scratched on my old copy)
Disconnected by The Buzzhorn
In Cold Blood by Malevolent Creation (I thought I got this last week, but those dickheads at Go Hastings never delivered it to me)
Failures for Gods by Immolation
Oppressing the Masses / Torture Tactics by Vio-Lence
True Defiance by Demon Hunter
Lemonade and Brownies by Sugar Ray (xD, laugh all you want, but I had to get a joke pawn shop CD in there somehow, plus Mean Machine is a fun song)

Jethro Tull - Aqualung

Well, it seems I'm in a prog rock binge at the moment. To all the prog freaks here I ask humbly; what should I be expecting? Because, from what I recollect, I have only heard like two and a half a minutes of Tull in my entire, short life (apparently, this was kind of a blind, impulsive buy). Was it a good move, or a waste of money?

I don't even care all that much for Jethro Tull and I even own that album cause it's good.
