I'm basically looking for music that gives the emotion, or makes you feel like death/dying, even suicide is okay.
The lyrics relating to that subject is obviously a plus.
There are no limits, for it can be atmospheric, industrial/electronic influenced, etc.
I'll be active, so I'll put more info if I come up with any and respond to your suggestions.

I really do thank you in advance.

A lot of DSBM would fit here as well as various funeral doom and death/doom bands.

Forest of Shadows - Wish always did it for me back when I listened to this stuff years ago.

The first time I heard Opeth's To Bid You Farewell, I was lying awake in bed after having just heard the rest of the album in a state somewhere between awake, but still in the comfort of sleep. The song had a true impact on me. If I died right then and there, I would have been willing to leave this world behind. I hope that's what death feels like. I've never felt more at peace.

I also agree with Henry. Morningrise is one of my favorite albums of all time.

I'm listening to Mournful Congregation - The Books of Kings and it's really damn great, very melancholic and relaxing funeral doom. It doesn't feel burdening like some other bands from the genre. In a sense, it's very melodic and gets into your soul. If things would end now, MC would be alright, it's dark but rejoicing.

Naglfar's Way of the Rope
Lyrics:"No more a servent nor a puppet on strings
The time has come for rebellion
This burden has far too long weighed heavy on me
Release my soul through a rope and a tree."

Its about suicide (obviously) and depict it as rebellion.

"The arrival of Demons Part II" is one of those doomy sad Hypocrisy songs with a awesome choir as Refrain, lyrics are also about suicide.

Bethlehem makes me feel like life is an disgusting business and you have to kill yourself as soon as possible.

I like Trist, particularly the album "Zrcadlení Melancholie" and the song "Poslední Cesta". There are some really beautiful sections in that song, some depressing, some uplifting. Anyway, better than your typical DSBM, that's for sure.

Two songs by Hate Eternal come to mind, these deal with death in what I feel is a positive light:

I, Monarch - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOA_S7ly80g

Path to The Eternal Gods - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7d4UVdLGsY

Lyrics are located under the videos of each.

Black Stench - Blood Is The Way

I don't know what the lyrics are about, but it's probably one of the most depressive songs I've heard. I don't know if it affects others in the same way, but it works for me. It's a perfect soundtrack for melancholy, self-pity and contemplating how much better it would be if you were dead.

I don't want to sound like a boring record, but Nortt is probably my best suggestion for this kind of thing. If I give it a proper listen, it can really drastically alter my mood and shoot me through to with nihilism down to the bone. No particular song in mind... Try "Ligpraedike" maybe though.

Don't get me wrong, I fucking love Path to the Eternal Gods. But is that really the kind of thing he's looking for?

I'd suggest Il Était une Forêt... by Gris.

"There are no limits, for it can be atmospheric, industrial/electronic influenced, etc." He asked for any type of music. He gave no specifics so I picked two good examples. If it's not what he's looking for, I think it's best from him to comment and fine tune the suggestions, not yourself.

This. All of their albums are great too; particularly The Monad of Creation.

Seconding Gris too. It's pretty much the epitome of all DSBM.

I liked this band, but it was another song from one of their other albums that stuck out for me.

Heard of Opeth, but I don't think i listened to their first 2 albums. Great song. Thanks for this rec!

Mournful Congregation didn't work for me. Thanks anyways though.

This is as far as I've gotten so far. I'll still be going down the list.

Shining, Evoken, Virgin Black's requiem albums, Marduk's Rom. 5:12, and Mayhem's De Mysteriis...

Each of these has a slightly different feel, but all are very death related. You might want to check out Mortician too (stop laughing). No really, some of there albums (especially Chainsaw Dismemberment) are very good and very deathlike. I don't know. I like them anyways.

Khanate's self-titled debut. I was listening to it just last night and it made me remember the extent to which my life is an insignificant speck.

I'm a fan of Naglfar, but not this song so much. Hypocrisy didn't work for me either. What about Bethlehem? Is that a band, or a song? Would you be able to give me a link for that please?

Trist and Make A Change, Kill Yourself both were good. Though I would like english lyrics please (even if i can't hear it that well haha) :)

Hate Eternal definitely was not for me. Didn't give me the emotion I was looking for.

I'm still going through the list. Will keep this updated. *So I'm still open to ANY suggestions since different things work for different people, but i would definitely like something that has english lyrics.*

I've always liked Life is Pain and Hypothermia for these purposes. Life is Pain has English lyrics, but I've never read them.

Nortt always makes me feel entirely hopeless. It really as an expert communication of nihilism. I find it forces it upon you.

Gris is one of the best DSBM bands in my opinion. Sadly, no English lyrics -- sorry. Still worth investigating though.

You already mentionned Nortt dude. And it's funny that you mention nihilism as every interview with him basically goes like this "I like to nihilistically apply my nihilism to my nihilist music so that the listener is immersed in pure nihilism" in all seriousness though, Nortt is probably some of the most boring, lazy music I've heard. Most of his songs are literally just two chords for ten minutes.

Oh oops, sorry. I didn't realize this was an old thread. I don't post in this sub-forum all that often, so in my brief review of the thread I failed to notice my own post.

And it's no coincidence that I mention nihilism with regard to Nortt -- I know that's what he's going for, and I think he's rather successful. Personally, I find the emotional impact really impressive, but it's not surprising if it doesn't work for everyone. The music is compositionally simple, that's true. But that's not entirely germane to the question of its quality. I highly doubt it was lazily made, since there does seem to be attention to detail. And your claim that most of his songs are "literally just two chords for ten minutes" seems absurd. The guitars especially do quite simple/boring things, I admit, but the other instruments help to keep up the atmosphere. Including the vocals, of course. The key, anyway, is probably not as much in the composition as it is in the tone and other more subtle qualities. I want to say "atmosphere" again, but it's hard to say what that means. I will say this: Even after listening to his albums numerous times, I can't really remember or identify any particular songs, but it's nonetheless an artistically gratifying experience each time I return.
