Right, that links to Part 2. Watch it from the beginning. It's a really good layout for those of us who weren't there from the beginning. Ridiculous amounts of link-hopping potential from one hour of a personal outline. Good stuff. Thanks for dealing with the chore, Fenriz!

Whoops, my bad haha.

NP: Overkill - Ironbound

Honestly my first time listening to Overkill, and I'm digging the riffage in this.

I may not have listened to the band as long as some, but I'm already hailing them as the thrash band which tops my list. I don't think it's the momentary hype of discovering the band, either, so I may be onto something in terms of my overall musical taste. They're essentially the quintessential thrash band, and their unique aesthetic, wit and style really fits my taste.

...Now that I've thoroughly kissed Overkill's arse, and rightly so...

Overkill - Overkill

No surprises there.

Oh, how I love where linking to different songs on Youtube gets you.

Overkill slays. If you live in the states I would highly suggest grabbing some tickets to their upcoming tour.

Fleshgod Apocalypse- The Egoism

Meh. Don't really care how fast your drummer or how epic your synthestra sounds. No riffs in my death metal is a deal breaker. Still enjoyable on a very shallow level, though.

Listening to them some more, seeing them tomorrow. I've seen them before, was pretty good. Should be fun.

Overkill - Come and Get It

Fucking awesome, can't wait to hear the whole thing.

Also tried the new Dragonforce song "Cry Thunder," which is great and way better than the other song they released beforehand. 2012 is shaping up after all.

Still a great album for me.

Teitanblood - Seven Chalices

Another great album. Haven't heard this in some time so it's good to hear again.

I completely agree. It's mildy enjoyable at first glance. the orchestra is, I guess, pretty well done. And the drummer is an absolute beast... but the songs just float through you without making a crushing impact, or any impact for that matter. I don't get the constant felating. It reminds me of a death metal version of Dimmu, on a mix of speed and roids.

Listening to: Gojira - Wolf Down The Earth

Venom - Moonshine

A reasonable highlight from the Possessed album which is, to be honest, a bit disappointing. The spark of Venom is there - but it's let down by the poorer-even-than-usual production, whereas everything up to At War with Satan had enjoyably-crap production.

Pink Floyd - Sheep

Just got the Animals album yesterday as a present, and I'm extremely pleased. This is a face of Pink Floyd I have never seen before; much more rocking and heavy, and even headbangeable to a certain extent, although of course without sacrificing their usual psychedelic leanings. This is great, people.

Possessed - Evil Warriors

Never thought to have a listen to Possessed until now. Definitely death-metal in it's embryonic state, with a lot of thrash and even some traditional-sounding bits. I feel like I'm learning a lesson about the development of extreme metal as a whole by having a listen to this, and what's more, I like how it sounds, so it's a win-win listen.
