Cattle Decapitation - A Living Breathing Piece Of Defecating Meat.
This is awesome. Quite a bit better than expected.

Cathedral - Soul Sacrifice

Killer second wave doom metal song that's already flirting with the stoner sound the band would play later. Just rocks.

Helloween - Rise and Fall

One of the most annoying songs ever. These guys would be one of my favorite bands if it weren't for pulling shit like this on every album.

I think I may join you in that. I'm more impressed by the EP version than the album one.

Bruce Dickinson - Tyranny of Souls

I was VERY pleasantly surprised by this album.

The Ruins of Beverast- The Clockhand's Groaning Circles

The whole song is spectacular, but shit gets real from about 3:30 and onward.

Sleep-Holy Mountain

This album is just fantastic. Chill riffs, good bass and everything. My favorite stoner album that I've heard.

Just finished Slayer - Necrophiliac

Now destroying to Abramelin - Pleasures

Two steel spikes, will stake them to their bed, writhing in pain, white sheets now dripping red."

Bathory - Judgement of Posterity

...And then you realise that Quorthon pre-empted Lamb of God's sound in 1995, and the universe implodes... And yes, I quite like Octagon.

Immortal - One by One

Riff-gasm. How does Abbath come up with such great riffs?

He asks Demonaz.

Ulver - Bergtatt. Beautiful and complete album.

Skull Fist - Ride On

Ridiculously catchy chorus. Even though the vocals seem a bit odd, I simply love just about every song on the "Head of the Pack" album.

Enochian Crescent - Tridents Clash

I found the sheer weirdness of this album overwhelming initially, but I've come to like it due to the amount of good riffs and great attitude.

Job For A Cowboy - Black Discharge

Another track from the new album is up, and I gotta admit I don't like this as much as Nourishment Through Bloodshed. It sounds like a track that could easily have been off Ruination, which fell sort of flat for me. I didn't like JFAC's brand of mid-paced death metal, a la that album.

EDIT: In other news, Arsis has a new preproduction track up and will be coming with a new album late this year/early next year.

My only complain is that it's too short.

Sky of Saddened Nights from (2009) Nokturnal Mortum - The Voice Of Steel.
LOVE the vocals!

Truppensturm - Antichrist Imminent!

Holy shit! Black death brutality! Listen to those tom drums; they sound like bomb raids! Awesome stuff.

Septic Flesh - The Eldest Cosmonaut. Meh, old SF is nowhere near as awesome as new SF.

Mgla: "With Hearts Toward None"

Every release from this band is utterly mindblowing, and this is no exception.
It's surpassed even my admittedly blown-up expectations. Even better than "Groza".

Marduk - Wormwood

Played this album a few times recently. I like the more mid-paced tracks better like "Funeral Dawn" and "As a Garment."

But that would imply that "Whorecrown" and "Into Utter Madness" aren't the best songs on Wormwood, which is silly.

Megadeth- Five Magics

Also rereading the fantasy novel that the song is based on by Lyndon Hardy called Master of the Five Magics. Written in 1980 it's one of the first fantasy novels I ever read. I believe I was 12 or 13.
Anyone else do this? Read something at the same time listening to something the music's based on? For example listening to Summoning while reading Tolkien. It's weird, sometimes it really fits, and sometimes it doesn't work at all.
