Hi from the north of germany!
I'm a middle-thirty aged metalhead and a frequent visitor of the Metal-Archives since a long period of time. First of all, I want to give a big "Thank you!" to the founders and the users of this site as well for the hard work & time they've spent to make the Archives what they are today! Cannot count the times I stopped buy here to gather informations around the bands I like and/or got introduced to, you rule!

Cheers and horns up for a good time here!

It's always cool to have new veterans in this place, especially when they're from the same country as legends like Sodom or Helloween (just to name a couple of examples)! Enjoy your stay here, Xeno!

@Xlxlx Holy shit, I started a month earlier than you, go on every day, and you have a custom title. What's your secret?
Seriously, I would like to see you become a mod someday.

lol, he got a custom title because Nap thought he was saying stupid/funny things. You're both very clueless teenagers and that's funny.

It was much more about how he got 1100 posts in a few months. I cannot imagine how to post that many times, and still have content.

@pbsisbad:
Me? A mod? Forget about it man. I don't have the ironhand nor the patience to be a mod, and I don't think that the people in that position take me seriously enough so as to give me such a privilege/responsabilty. And as for my number of posts? I'm still on vacation, so besides the occasional meeting with friends I don't have much to do. Don't give a lot of thought to it though, as neither do I. The postcount is nothing more than just a number.

Also, Metantoine; what happened to you? You seem quite a bit more..... Cynical, let's say.

That's what being a Mod does to you. The constant idiocy you must eradicate gnaws at your soul.

Something like that or receiving ''fuck you for closing my threads''s message will do that to you :) But no, I'm not cynical, not yet.

Am I really that bad? Because besides some (admittedly stupid) stuff in the FFA and sparse hollow comments here and there in the forums, I'm pretty sure that my posts usually aren't worthless. But then again, what do I know?

Nah, just cut back on the posting as you've been told before, give it some time and the posts/content ratio should go down. I don't really mind, to be honest, just found his comment funny in the context.

I think it's cute that young pmsisdad has a.... mentor (dear god!) to look up to. Of sorts.

I'm no one's mentor, so pbsisbad better look for an older (and better) poster to admire. Sorry man, but I'm not exactly an exemplary user.

Not even close, and it was never like that. I just like his posting style. It's more on-topic than mine. But mentor? Idol? Noooooo...

Hey guys, I'm IMPF a 14-year old from Canada. I like most sub-genres, but my two most favourite are Prog Metal and Black Metal. My favourite Metal bands are Iron Maiden, Opeth, Nokturnal Mortum, Dream Theater, Burzum, Ulver, Sabbat, Edge of Sanity and Devin Townsend. What's up?

Then if you want to find more prog and black, there are seperate threads in the Recommendation Central for each, they are a goldmine of awesome. Not two genre loves I would expect to see, but awesome nonetheless. ;-P Good to have you on board.

Thanks man. I only recently got into Black Metal a couple of months ago, but it has quickly become one of my favourite genres of all time. I still have a lot of bands to check out though.

Hi. Been using MA since '03, but never bothered to make an account for some reason. All other boards I used to frequent are dead, so here I am.

Anyway, if it's not obvious from my profile, I'm from the band Vit. So there's that.

My name's Tim, I live in Cincinnati, Ohio (duh) and I love early grindcore and 90's death metal. I'm a freelance music journalist and have been doing what I can to help keep underground metal going where I live for 11 years. My screen name is actually my nickname offline, which most people call me by. It's weird, but you can't beat one like that with a stick.

Btw I registered here in 2006, but didn't post until yesterday.

Hello. I have been a metal fan for the last 26 years, and even though many of you know more technical aspects of my favorite kind of music, I still know crap when I hear it. I see some great reviews and such here, and I'm looking forward to reading them.
