Yeah got my package today already, and it's really killer. It's one of those cases of the internet finding quality material that was overlooked in its own time and now it's getting it'd due love (at least in this niche corner of the internet). It's good stuff, I like.

Mine arrived today, along with the other 5 CD's I got. Packaging for Timeghoul looks really awesome and I can't wait to hear it.

Thanks again to ogmetal and Dark Descent for running such a brilliant distro.

As far as I remember with DDR, when it says delivered it just means that it was shipped. Canada Post is really bad though. I recently had to wait over a month for a package that came from inside of Canada.

I'm probably just weird, but I'm not crazy about Timeghoul like everyone else is. I did buy this CD though. The last two tracks are awesome; really interesting guitar work and cool lyrics. The stuff from the first demo is a little plain though, definitely more straightforward and not as spacey.

Oddly enough I thought the first demo was a shade better than the second, a bit more to the point and vicious, while still standing out from the crowd.

"Occurrence on Mimas" is a beast of a song. I didn't appreciate it fully until I blasted it in the car today and just let its rolling, almost orchestral-style songwriting crush me like an asteroid would. Great lyrics, too - that whole intro about 'fossilized DNA from the brain of the last human being' is cool as hell. The first demo is more straightforward, but I have to say I'm finally learning why everyone says the second one is better.

id say the first and 2nd are both excellent demos. The first demo while more straightforward is still very different and amazing. The 2nd demo is indeed more out there but this means its just awesome in a different way.

I like Paranormal Twilight a little better but both are really good.

I've listened to the compilation a couple of times now and the whole thing is just superbly put together. So glad these got re-released.

Finally ordered a copy. Hope it doesn't take too long to come. I can't wait to hear how it sounds, and see how good it actually looks in person.

I received my copy last friday. I had never listened to them before but this is definitely some twisted death metal right there, very original. Oh, and the packaging is fantastic. Great job.

Indeed it did! Funny thing how the digipack opens from the backside.

Yeah, I thought I was holding it backwards or something, but it's just the funky design. I love everything about the compilation.

The cover layout is pretty clever, the whole thing looks good unfolded. Wouldn't work if the 'front' was printed in the usual position.

Thank the German customs nazis. Worst pieces of shit out there. German orders can take two to five weeks after shipment.

Actually, they're screening to make a profit.

They are the worst customs officials on the planet. I sent three CDs as promos to Frank Stover. They contacted him and said he needed an invoice for these three CDs. I sent him something in the mail and now they don't have the CDs and don't know where they are.

Similarly, I sent a pack full of CDs (with invoice) to be given away as promos for a German magazine. It took damn near a UN team to free those from the customs clutches. None of it was remotely NS...they just wanted to get paid.

Reminds me of a story we share Matt.

Customs here in Europe are quite "interactive" when it comes to packages coming from the US, more so than from any other country in the world.

Well, my disc finally got here, safe and sound. It's quite bad-ass, listening to it now! Who knows what kind of journey, involving land, air and serious men in suits, it went through to find its way here.

The whole package kicks ass, in fact I'm gonna put the album on now. Definitely one of my favorite designed digipaks, it obviously had some time and effort put into it unlike most others.

Was anybody else surprised at the first 30 seconds of "Boiling In The Hourglass"? The mp3 I had in the past had the beginning cut out for some reason. The first time I listened to the CD I was stoked to hear something completely unexpected and not to mention it sounded like if Gorguts had three guitarists and was just having fun. I had to replay that first bit like three times before moving on to the rest of the song.

I've heard the 30 seconds at the beginning of Boiling but yeah, not all the Timeghoul mp3s floating on the Internet have it.

Really neat packaging and art, and of course awesome music. Thanks og for the quick delivery too. Sorry about the paypal complications.

Also, reading the lyrics - Jeff really is/was a very talent lyricist. A cut above the rest, damn shame he never did more. A damn shame!!!

That was done because Riddick's art necessitated it - the obvious cover is the middle of the three panels, but you can't put that on a conventional digipak layout without having it open from the wrong side (the left). We figured that was more confusing than this approach (though this is a little unusual in its own right). Matt and I went back and forth about it for literally weeks, even down to folding up pieces of paper to figure out how it was going to work... it was pretty funny, actually. :-D

Thanks - as the guy who did the primary design (with tons of help from Matt/DDR and Ted/The Crypt) that feels good to hear. I was very happy get to work on this particular project, and put a lot of effort into making it look good and fitting to the band's sci fi themes.

For those interested, I just sent a new version of this to press. Double disc jewel case. The second side contains a ton of vault material we were able to finally release including the Webster sessions material (no vocals). It's available to order now. The first pressing was sold out months ago and very difficult to find on the secondary market.

Son of a bitch!

Out of curiosity, what are the three sections? I'm having trouble reading them.

The Webster sessions, live tracks and something else? A rehearsal?

It's the band's first four track recording from 1989.

Damn I just ordered one of the last few copies Amazon had available but it doesn't have the bonus '89 stuff, shitty.

Looks like you bought one of the copies from Mike Stevens (one of the original members). These have been sold out for quite some time and it's a real nice package. I wouldn't be upset for owning that version at all.

With that said, it wasn't the intention of adding all this material later in a second pressing, it just worked out that way when Antonio opened up the Timeghoul "vault" and allowed us to include a ton of new material, including the unreleased demo.

I agree soon those digipacks will be a rare collectors item to have. I also bought the 2 CD version and silver with black splatter vinyl edition since I love having all the Timeghoul material.

I would've bought both if I could've found both I'll keep looking I guess. But yeah I'm in no way disappointed that I got it, I'm super happy actually just to be able to own a piece of history like that. It's going to be a nice addition to my blossoming collection.
