I find it very sad that they have learned to mimic the noises made by the machinery destroying their homes.

Ah, I remember this now. The reason primitive insects were much bigger was because the atmosphere was much more rich in oxygen back then, right? And to the other guy who quoted you, Nap; would that mean that if, say, insects developed fully functional lungs akin to hours with time, they would grow bigger?

Bigger, yes. Like those gigantic prehistoric dragonflies. (Meganeura) Talking about big bugs:

I find this sig-worthy. Good sig-worthy. I'm not much of a tree-hugger, but this really hit me.

Yeah, when you think about it, it's pretty ironic how those creatures reproduce the sound of what's turning them into hobo birds.

We also raise an assortment of fish, my favorite of which is the redtailed catfish we have...this isn't him, but it is the size and coloration he will reach in adulthood:

I've also kept these guys, though not these exact specimens pictured:

Puff Adder:

Mojave rattlesnake:

Dusky pygmy rattler:

Cottonmouth (I've had a number of these, took a hit from a 5 ft. male a decade back):

Reticulated python (my fav. big snake):

Numerous burmese pythons have been in my collection, though my fav. was an Albino named "Lucky" that now resides in a Maryland zoo:

Could you put those pics in a spoiler so that they don't take up so much space?

Nah, that's a misuse for "spoilers," no? If more people complain, I'll just nix it. Besides, it doesn't really make much sense to hide on topic pics just because someone doesn't want to scroll. No offense, honestly.

Not to mention it's better for a dolphin to show up than certain other forms of oceanic life.

It's more organized.

Lol, nah man - I've had that moniker on forums for a decade or more now. I change it up on forums that I join now, just because people seem to get that same vibe from it, or they act like dickheads to me just because of it, and that always goes nowhere fast. But whatever, internet's the internet...hope you liked the pics.

I suspect the dolphin could detect chemicals given of by the woman, maybe she was over excited being with dolphins? and he reacted naturally.

I've read about kangaroos getting over friendly with women who are having their period and can become very aggressive is this true?

Respect wild animals (any animal).

I hope one day we will treat large marine mammals (especially) with the respect and equal rights we show to people. Whale and dolphin aquariums will one day be viewed as what they are forced captivity/bondage and against an entity which often has a brain mass larger than ours.

Just watched this and it made me cry. It amazes me how close we are to primates, and just reinforces the theory of evolution for me, how we are so close to them really.

This will always be my favourite animal clip ever.

David Attenborough is just one of the people I have infinite respect for. In his lifetime he has seen more of the world and the nature within it than any other person through history, or probably anyone ever will.

I don't understand the point of that, why do that? It's not a human child that needs to be taught about life and death experiences in order to develop into an adult. Being in captivity is bad enough.
I would've just bought in a new kitten after a few days and said it had grown a bit.

He looked so gentle, I wouldn't want to get that close to a chimpanzee though.

I guess if it's characteristics are that human it's really the right thing to do. If the GORILLA (had to, Chimps are very different) is that intelligent it would probably notice that it wasn't allball. Also in a cynical way, they probably felt telling him/her would be able to show them something about how Gorilla's react to things like that, whether they can understand things like that, exploited the situation in order to do an experiment on their nature.
