just discovered this band who create some really catchy black metal(hard to describe apart from really catchy black metal) can anyone recommend me anything similar?

This Horna track is similar, as are other songs from the associated album. Both this and Thrall are quite black'n'rollish. Just accept it and work from there.

That being the case, check out Tjolgtjar and Blood Cult.

thanks i didnt know that thrall were black'n'rollish i usually associate that tag with bands with more punk influence, thank you for the link and i'll check them out

How about Fukpig? They're basically Anaal Nathrakh with d-beats and catchier riffs. They sometimes implement choral sections which can be downright eerie... yet still very catchy.

It's my least favorite drum pattern, even in the genres in which it actually fits (thrash, for example). I don't think it has a place in BM at all.

Blackened DM band Zyklon's album Aeon is fairly catchy especially the opening two tracks. Not quite a black'n'roll approach, but definitely worth checking out. More of an industrial influence.

I always recommend these guys, incredibly catchy stuff. Its like the only black metal I can show people without them getting freaked out while still not being sell-out black metal
