Basically, I'm looking for some band with extensive use of Sax, Clarinet, Flute, Sitar and other unusual jazzy instruments in a Progressive Metal Fashion.

A clear example could be this Ihsahn song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1I2ho-ZKIc

And the middle to ending of this Strapping Young Lad
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy0Ass-EoPc

I already dig bands like Solefald, Ihsahn, Unexpect, the Norweigan Shinning, most of Devin Townsend bands

Thanks guys!!!!

La Rumeur des Chaines play jazzy symphonic BM. Very unique.

Check out Giant Squid, in particular "The Ichthyologist." Cello, banjo, wind instruments, etc...

Kailash, Negura Bunget.

Although its not that prominent in the music, Ygg uses a jews harp. Asunder uses a cello.

The track "Myr" from the new Taake album has a banjo solo at the end. Plus the song as a whole is excellent!

The albums "Spiritech" and "Organasm" by Alchemist both use mixture of tribal instruments, psychedelic keyboards, and a variety of other sounds which give the band its very distinct Australian vibe. Both albums come HIGHLY recommended.

I'm confused about what you want. I never heard a Sitar in jazz.

A lot of Jazz with World Music influences has Sitar

If you like Jazz you might want to check out some Ravi Shankar music

I'm gonna look into La Rumeur des Chaines, Giant Squid and Kailash, they look very promising, thanks a lot!

Alchemist and Sear Bliss blew my mind!!! awesome bands!

I never really gont into Sigh, but I'll definitely give them another chance based on the awesomeness of this song...

I really liked Marțolea, even if there's nothing jazzy about it, I loved the soundscapes...

Again, thanks guys!

This may be a good thread to bring this up.... Anyone ever notice on Arcturus' album The Sham Mirrors they have listed in the credits, Matthias Eick - Ubu's Horn on "Ad Absurdum", "Collapse Generation", and "Radical Cut". Anyone have any idea what the helll Ubu's horn is? I have tried looking this up and came up with nothing. I guess it's possible it could be a regular horn or an inside joke or something. There are sleeve quotes from the pre-surrealist play 'Ubu the King' by Alfred Jarry. But that's all i got. Any ideas?

Have you heard of the Diablo Swing Orchestra?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qO_v90ZS ... re=related
Or Adagio?
This is an old one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ygwAsDr ... ure=relmfu
or newer

Not unusual instruments but classical piano.

You should check out Botanist who use hammered dulcimer instead of guitar. There's also Shevalreq, Thursar, and Xynfonica on Hekaloth Records who are all waaay out there. Their music is tough to track down though. The only band that has a page on Metal archives out of these is Botanist. The others... maybe YouTube? These are all great and worth listening to.

I've asked something similar in the past before and I've gotten a lot of good responses.
Here's the link to that thread
