You'll definitely want to try Vordven.

Try out Kinstrife & Blood as well as L'Ordre du temple, both bands are heavily influenced by Summoning especially the former. You might also enjoy Italy's Nazgul, the music is quality though I have never been a fan vocals. Finlands Avathar would also fit the bill, its been quite a while since I listened to them to reccommend an individual album so just check at random.

You'll probably like Ambient BM, such as Lustre or Spectral Lore.

Darkspace. Pretty different from Summoning, but still good.

Nooooooo, I just came here to recommend Vordven.
They're one of my favorite bands.

But since I'm already here, I might as well recommend Forest Silence.
Though not really for their Black Metal works. In my opinion, their Black Metal material is kinda subpar.
They do however have some eccelent Ambient stuff, which you should totally check it.

I second these bands. At risk of being way to obvious I'm going to recommend Agalloch. More emphasis on the atmosphere than the black metal, but some really great stuff. I find that some bands from the Quebec scene have a lot of atmosphere. Some examples are Gris, Sombres Foret and Threne. All amazing atmospheric takes on dsbm. The second album by Neige and Noirceur is pretty killer, and very atmospheric. Has a lot of weird stuff like traditional Quebecois folk music and the occasional weird electronic section.

Have you heard of Skagos? They are often raw but also heavily focus on atmosphere. I recommend Ast and their split with Panopticon. If your into the rawer atmospheric black metal, try the "Stahlhartes Gehäuse" by L'acephale. Some wonderful and weird stuff. This may be a bit of a long shot, but you may like Cobalt. Killer riffs and an interesting atmosphere that is not shared by many black metal bands. Also check out Levitating the Carnal by Elysian blaze. Its basically the black metal version of funeral doom. A really creepy, haunting atmosphere. Finally I'm going to recommend "Battlefields" by Hate Forest. There are traditional Ukranian folk interludes, insane percussion and a really unnerving atmosphere.

Yeah I'm a fan of Gris, there are some great bands from Quebec, I also agree with Ast by Skagos such an awesome album. I'll look up L'acephake and Elysian Blaze. I was told that Hate Forest was nsbm so I haven't listened to any but if the music is good I can look past the politics. Thanks for the recommendations.

All in all.. I think any Black Metal band can be "Atmospheric".. It depends on the listener!
Marduk, Mayhem, Gorgoroth & Darkspace, Negura Bungent.. all give different atmosphere.

Yeah I agree all black metal creates an atmosphere. some is just more "atmospheric" than others. Even death metal creates a certain atmosphere
