I'm really looking forward to the new Fates Warning with Bobby Jarzombek. And then there's the new Testament, Tool, Saint Vitus, Watchtower and Candlemass's final album.

The new Black Sabbath has me more worried than excited. Iommi almost never disappoints, but I really doubt the band can manage to make something as good as The Devil You Know.

What do you guys see in Saint Vitus? They were on the undercard of a show I saw a few months back and it was nothing short of terrible. One of the worst sets I've had to get through before enjoying the band(s) I bought the ticket to see. Is it perhaps a 'live thing' or simply not my deal, I wonder? I can't say I've listened to much of their discography at all - but judging by the live set I have less than zero reason to.

Saint Vitus' prime was about 20+ years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't exactly the same great act now that they were then.

Also looking forward to new ones by:

Dark Funeral
Immortal
Marduk

Also UK tours would be greatly appreciated (especially Immortal as have never seen them live).

I hope Nile have managed to find some inspiration, their last one contained a bit too much re-hash and cheese. I doubt it.
As for Suffocation, I'm afraid that won't turn out too exciting either. I'll probably still enjoy it though.

After giving a glance to the tracklisting for the new Spawn of Possession album, Incurso, it definitely looks like it's going to be a concept album of sorts. If not in narrative, then certainly in unifying themes. Interesting cover art, too. Should be a nice compliment to the new Psycroptic and Hour of Penance albums. Agreed with HeirOfNothing that the new Nile hopefully gets a shot in the arm for songwriting, although I wouldn't mind if it's a little more of the same.

Nehëmah - Tomb of Thoughts 1992-2004 (6-LP BOXSET)

2012 is going to be awesome...! :D

Monolithe, EP at least, and maybe if I ask really, really nicely, Monolithe III.

If it is similar to their older works then I will be more than excited for this release too :)

The post today was less inspiring, he still called it heavy, but he said it was thier most "ambitious" release so far, which in the climate of recent FT output doesn't excite me. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against ambition, but in the context of current FT I don't have high hopes. Hearing the same statement after LBG I would have been thrilled.

The Wizar'd

Hopefully there is more coming out that I'm not aware of yet. Someone mentioned Bedemon. This is about as surprising to me as it could possibly get. Where can I find more informatiom about it?

The new In Mourning comes out in less 2 weeks. I'm stoked as hell for it. It sounded close to the two previous full-lengths, but with its own identity and different influences. Could be a grower, but I'm willing to give it all year. Love this band, and that cover art rules!

Also looking forward to new Wrathprayer, I hope it will be better than Pseudogod debut which is actually nice but something is lacking to superiority. That song "The Darkest Fyre" shows noticeable progression since the 2009 demo...

Seems like Aberrant Vascular will finally release the debut this year. Could be nice appetizer before the Arcturus do something new.

Will check also debut from norwegian atmo bm band Kråke. Just because this nice song from their 2008 demo: http://youtu.be/aUt4f_WCx1Y

Anyone also looking forward to new Necrovation ? Breed Deadness Blood was decent.
Cover art is already revealed and looks cool...

Looking forward to hear something new from Living Decay, just discovered these guys, and I like the way they play their "Autopsian oldschool death metal" on Doomed to Last 2010 demo. Really nice, love those killer accelerations.

There's a chance some of these bands won't have their albums out until next year, but off the top of my head just to start the salivation:

Immolation - Currently or will begin recording sometime in June for a tentative October release.
Incantation - Currently recording.
Disgorge - And the Weak Shall Perish; I don't know what's going on with this as I don't think all the songs have even been written yet much less recorded. Still, Parallels of Infinite Torture is my favorite and if it builds on that, I'm more than satisfied.
Pyrexia - Currently recording, titled Feast of Iniquity. Both Dave Culross and Doug Bohn are recording drums for the album.
Internal Bleeding - Currently in pre-production or early recording stages between live dates, titled The Pageantry of Savagery. May be a 2013 release.
Dehumanized - Finishing recording over the course of June.
Devourment - Begin recording June 15th.
Neurosis - No surprise that there's been little information about this one, but they were wrapping up mixing in late March so we'll see.
Sinister - Recording The Carnage Ending throughout June. 4/5ths of a new lineup outside of Aad. I'm an apologist for the band through all phases and lineups of their career so I'll be awaiting this one, too.
Disma - In the midst of some sporadic live dates but should at least be hitting the studio very soon.
Grave - Endless Procession of Souls is said to be a little more of a groovier take on their last couple of albums. Just make it dirty and Swedish and the rest should fall into place.
Deeds of Flesh - Currently recording Portals to Canaan, it seems like it's taken forever considering the title was made known long before anything was written.
Rigor Mortis - Recorded their first album in over 20 years back in February, but haven't found a label for release yet.
Warbeast - Finishing recording for their second album sometime in June and is currently mixing 2 non-album songs for release.
A Band of Orcs - Just found these guys a few weeks ago through a couple of streamed demo songs. Self-titled debut should be out in August or September.
