I'm looking forward to the new Christian Mistress, Orange Goblin, and Hellvetron's debut. Will probably check out the new ones from RAM and Earth too.

I think it's gonna be another great year for metal. Old school thrash and death metal have had a tremendous upheavel in these last few years so I'm hoping on more great releases in those genres. Other than that a lot of my favorite bands are coming out with new albums or EPs in 2012, most notable of which is probably Orange Goblin's A Eulogy for the Damned which is coming out in February.

New Fates Warning album. No idea what to expect.

New Paradise Lost which got described as ''influenced by classical and doom metal''. Will be killer probably.

Virgin Steele perhaps? If, atleast they won't go through the shit they did last time before they could finaly release an album.

I'm looking most forward to new Gorguts, Behemoth, and Black Sabbath albums. It would also be awesome if Archgoat put out another full length.

I also can't wait for the new Rush album.

Vortex has stated that Arcturus are making a new album, so I think it'd be pretty realistic for it to come out in 2012! And if it does... I am so excited. I, unlike the most, loved Sideshow symphonies. You may say it's boring and uninspiring, I say it's dreamy, ethreal and beautiful. I'm not comparing it to LMI or TSM, that would be a waste of time.

Another album I'm looking forward to is Sigh's "In Somniphobia". I haven't heard all of the band's albums, but those I have, are extremely good stuff. And if they desbrice it as "nightmareish Imaginary Sonicscapes", it has to be good.

Arckanum has released his newer cds with a fast pace, so I think it would be pretty wise to expect a new one in 2012. Helvitismyrkr was a killer, although it didn't have a lot new in it. I hope Shamaatae has more fresh ideas this time.

I know I will get a lot of shit for this but I am really looking forward to Lamb of God's Resolution and Soulfly's Enslaved.

Also looking forward to the new Hypocrisy and By Night.

Though what get's me the most excited is the second album by swedish thrashers Zombiekrig. I am dying to hear if they can make a better album than their debut, which is one of my favorite albums of all times.

I don't think Immolation will release any new stuff next year. After all, they released one EP this year and a full-length last year.

Holy fuck, how could I just forget about Eyehategod and Electric Wizard?

Can't wait, though I don't think 2012 will be as good as 2011. 2011 came up with a whole bunch of amazing records.

I'll be looking forward to the new releases by:

Aborted
Akercocke?
Cannibal Corpse
Cattle Decapitation
Drudkh
The Faceless
Hour Of Penance
Marduk
Meshuggah
Napalm Death
Nile
Psycroptic
Torture Killer
Tool?

And possibly some others that I've missed. 2012 is looking like a good year for releases....hopefully!

Right now, I'm mostly looking forward to new Drudkh, Blut Aus Nord and Sigh - though I hope the latter will have a better sound than on their contribution to the "Swine Of Hades" split. Some new Canadian Death Metal would be fine, too, Gorguts, Quo Vadis and maybe new Cryptopsy come to my mind.

From what's been confirmed already, I will certainly also give a listen to Alcest, Sear Bliss and Swallow The Sun.

What I'm hoping for is new stuff by Disillusion, Madder Mortem, Moonspell, Pig Destroyer, Hollenthon, Code and Dodheimsgard, Kalmah, Aarni and Carach Angren. What I've been hoping for several years now and may possibly will never come is new Golem, Grabnebelfürsten and Ordo Draconis.... but maybe some bands are superstitious and think must release one more album before the end of 2012, haha.

The ones I can think of right now are Kalmah, Gojira, Katatonia, Arcturus, and to a lesser extent Carach Angren. (The production of their latest was horrid) I'm not very hopefull for a Immolation release, but one can still hope. Also, MITHRAS.

Edit. Almost forgot to mention Ihsahn

Moonspell, Cattle Decapitation, Nile, Kreator (maybe ?), and of course the new Thornspawn/Varathron split coming out sometime in early March.

You can always look forward to new Necrophagist :)

...and now something for real:

Akphaezya - Anthology IV : The Tragedy of Nerak (!!!)
Dark Forest - Land of the Evening Star
Gorguts !!!
Pseudogod - Deathwomb Catechesis
Aosoth - Our Crown of Sins
Vargnatt - Durch die Stille…
In Mourning - The Weight of Oceans
Nàttsòl - Iaktta
Dol Ammad - Hyperspeed (!!!)
The Meads of Asphodel - Sonderkommando

looks like it could be great year, definitely much better than 2011

I get the feeling 2012 will be the year for doom metal. If we're going to have one last album from some of the biggest doom metal acts Candlemass and Cathedral as well as Black Sabbath's comeback album, this should warm things up for doom metal in the new year. There's plenty of stuff I want to see in the new year but I can look too far ahead since plenty of releases I've look forward to ended up getting pushed off for the following year.

Speaking of doom metal I'm pretty sure Hour of 13 will have a new one out too, that will definitely be a quality release.

Have to also add Dying Fetus, who I just learned are in the studio working on their new album. Part of the presser:

"Set to be released in mid 2012 through Relapse Records, the album will feature nine tracks and is a "return to roots" with production focused slightly more on slam than in the band's last few works. Thematically, the album is set to be a good old-fashioned piece of social and political commentary in the style of Dying Fetus as we have come to know. An official release date and album title will be announced shortly.

"The last album had some groove in it," stated John, "but [it] was basically a lot of tech; this one is a return to form of older Dying Fetus albums, so to speak - more modern production though, of course." "Everything's tight," John adds; "...the sound is crushing, the drums are amazing."

I loved DOD, so I hope they don't stray too far... ;) Between this and new Severe Torture I'm really getting stoked about 2012. Others I'm anxious for include: Aborted, Asphyx, Cannibal Corpse, and Lamb Of God (yeah, I said it).

I'm expecting something like Sympathetic Resonance, if only because of how that was originally written for Fates Warning in its earliest roots. Other than that, the new Saint Vitus is top priority though the prospects of Cathedral, Candlemass, Black Sabbath, Electric Wizard, Orange Goblin, Kin of Ettins, Testament, and others makes me a giddy little schoolgirl!

So far I'm looking orward to:

Testament
Baroness
Iron Fire
Mayhem (apparently they've got something in the works, but I don't know)

I can't really think of anything else yet - I usually find out about new albums about a month before they come out.

Can't really think of much right now, but hopefully 2012 will bring some new Behemoth, Enfold Darkness, and Municipal Waste. Hopefully Wintersun will get their next album out (one of these days...), but let's not get too ahead of ourselves...

Biggest anticipation for me is Sigh's In Somniphobia, should be out early 2012. New track from Swine of Hades comp sound damn impressive, more back to the style of Imaginary Sonicscape.

Also Behexen, Pseudogod, Blacklodge...to name a few without too much thinking.

Yeah and also Mysticum - Planet Satan! According to their facebook page, its now very real.
