Jute Gyte - Impermanence has just been released. Seven tracks of experimental black metal with lots of layered contrapuntal guitars and strange meters. You can get it free by "paying" $0.00 here: http://jutegyte.bandcamp.com/

I've seen them live and this is some real brutal stuff and worth checking out. Omnihility should be releasing their debut on Sevared Records by early next year, according to the band's email response that I got.

was really looking forward to hearing this since you name-dropped my fav band in describing them, but apparently the link does not work....pls let them know or gimme one that works...

That seems just like taking advantage of someone trying to be nice. Buy the album.

One of my favorite freebies: Crionic. Their first album "Different" is a minor
thrash classic. Has kind of a Sepultura-gone-tech sound
that's the great one the history of heavy Metal.

That would indeed be the case, if the guy who posted the link wasn't the man behind the project. ;)

Incidentally...

Doom band Of Spire and Throne have a EP-length thingy available on bandcamp, which is free, in the same "pay 0.00" sense;
http://ofspireandthrone.bandcamp.com/

Crust/black-metallers "Embers" have an EP, a single, and an album up as "name your price";
http://embers.bandcamp.com/

Iowa black-metal "Nethervoid" have two albums and an EP;
http://nethervoid.bandcamp.com/

I think the first band hasn't been put in the thread before. I feel the latter two might have been; it's been quite a while since I read the thread from start to finish, I'm afraid.

I think it's best described as melodic death metal but there is a lot of different influences such as traditional metal and power metal; all with harsh vocals. Check it out!

Stuff sounds good! Do you have artwork for this, or should I just use the God of War PlayStation game artwork? :P

I'm one of those anal-retentive people that don't like to have stuff on my iPhone w/o artwork :)

The most important on this list, not only because they fucking rule, but because I still find it incredibly hard to believe that they are from my country. Seriously, how can they be from Argentina??? They are ridiculously good!

My personal number 2 of 2011 out of the 67 albums on my list, only below Blut Aus Nord's "777" albums! ;-)

Also I should make clear that Tyrant Of Death has re-uploaded all of his albums to MediaFire.
