This thread deals with issues revolving around releases that are in need of correction.

Aside from the split albums also collaborations are a tricky thing to deal with in the new software environment. In case someone stumbles over them and is uncertain on how to fix them, this is the proper thread to discuss this issue.

Moreover, the links posted below (split albums) are those of the old software system and may need to be transfered to the new version as well. Maybe Morrigan or Hellblazer can clear matters up on how long the old links are still accessible.

Again... help on fixing this mess would be really great. Questions should be asked in this thread and we can solve them then.

Please 'report' in this thread the splits and albums that have been fixed. A mod or admin will then remove the incorrect splits from the database and from this list.

Note for those who correct legacy splits: In case you haven't noticed yet you can just change the release type from Split (legacy) -> Split and insert the other participating bands instead of adding the release again and inserting all the info. Assuming you have veteran privileges.

Morri told me that once we migrate to the new server, those links will redirect to the v2 releases.

Oneyoudontknow, all links are working, so you can edit your OP.

For splits that have a collaboration track, you can just add the bands as "band1 / band2" and then choose that entry for the track. I have done so here: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Ho ... tis/286618

You can remove the following splits:
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=64749
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=47947
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=107418

That is a nice way to add collaborations ... yet, I do not think that it widely known. I just had to re-edit a fix, because it was 'corrected' in the wrong way; from legacy to new. Maybe this issue should be mentioned explicitely in the rules or faqs.

Oneyoudontknow: We won't have a new list of splits such as the one that existed in v1, though now you can just use the advanced search and limit your search to months.

but does this not cover the stuff in some respect as well?
http://www.metal-archives.com/todo/splits
The problem remains for wrongly added ones. How do you cover this, aside from a list similar to the one in the op?

You can just search for all split albums added in March of 2011, then all splits albums added in April, May and so on. It pretty much works like the list on the top.

Btw, it seems to me that the information about the remaining splits cannot be found on the internet; at least I'm not able to do so. The solution is to e-mail bands and labels.

Here is your new list of splits:
http://www.metal-archives.com/todo/splits

If you sort it by date - starting from the oldest - you've stopped at page 71, on the "Simbiose / Agathocles" split.

I will take a look at it later ...
Thanks...
I added the re-releases and such, but I think it might be best to do a new search; again: later.

Gone. The user who added this also added a bunch of other V/A compilations. I've reported him.

Just finished correcting the misencoded titles of this release and noticed it was a duplicate of this release.

So somebody probably already added it, not expecting "Âî èìÿ èíîå" was actually the mangled carcass of "Во Имя Иное".

Can we delete the other release, please?

hey... so, I'm going through some old CDs and while doublechecking some stuff, found this:

...so I tried to add the tracklisting from the CD sleeve, but I can't edit actual song titles so I just added the tracklisting under the album notes... posting here in case anyone with higher privileges can do the edit properly or whatever

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Ko ... chov/51477

I tried adding the tracklist for this album (from the additional notes that a user had left), but there was no "Add Track" button. I even had a crack at running some JavaScript on the page to add the rows, but to no avail. Rather then spend my time trying to hack the thing, I went and readded the album instead:

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Ko ... hov/320378

So the first album needs to die.

It's not. It's some kind of bug, I think the albums were fine in v1. I've come across that bug at least two times before and had to re-add the whole album every time. I have no idea why this happens to some entries, that's for the owners to answer.

I added a new band, Angaschmäng, and I had some problems with adding a release. After submitting the form there was no dialog box, so I thought that the operation failed. After two more attempts I realized, that in fact the releases were added and now I am unable to remove the unwanted duplicates.
The band is:

Is it possible to fix the script so that there is some visual response, e.g. dialog box or something. Also, is it possible to add a "remove release" button somewhere?

I, uh, kinda goofed while I was making Cara Neir's band draft... I added Part I and Part II as two different albums, since they were both listed individually in the artist's Bandcamp:

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Ca ... _II/319121

But later on I notice they were grouped together in another discography listing... so... I think they were probably a single release... Really have no idea why they were posted separately, though. :\

I think it'd also help if we had the ability to delete releases from our band drafts...

Accidentally added an album without a tracklist.

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/To ... III/322617

This happened when I started adding a Split album before I realised it was a single-track collaboration between two artists, so I changed it back... then submitted it when the server was having issues with too many SQL connections.
