Several months ago, I made a anti-folk / new weird america thread. Someone recommended Johnny Hobo & the Freight Trains to me. My initial reaction was 1) This isn't what I asked for and 2) It's gimmicky and boring. But it grew on me in time and that style of music has become a new favorite. Thanks, you!

Thanks to triggerhappy for Rudra. I'm so burnt out on extreme metal lately that hardly anything catches my attention. This did.

Thanks to failsafeman, Empyreal, hells_unicorn, and autothrall for all their recommendations and interesting reviews. We may not agree on some things, but that's how it works, right? (although it seems that me and autothrall basically agree on 98% of all albums)

I'm not quite sure who to thank for recommending me Psychotic Waltz.
I just seen the name mentioned along with other bands that I happen to love,so I'll thank MA and everyone else who mentioned them in the recc. heavy/power thread.
Bless your souls guys! I am beyond grateful for the joy this band has brought to my ears.

I'm perhaps exceptionally late in thanking people, but looking over my music collection today, I realised just how much of it is influenced by this site.

Thanks to the people who reccommended Atlantean Kodex and Solstice to me in threads, and thanks to people making reccommendations to other people, and in general threads, who got me into Sargeist, Abigail, Vektor, Anacrusis, Razorwyre, Funeral Mist, Bolt Thrower, and a ton of other stuff. I owe a lot of my taste to this site, it would seem. :)

Thanks 2, 4

Disma, Incantation, Vomitory, Jungle Rot, and Trauma

I've been missing out. Disma has some just filthy riffs and surprisingly I find Incantation to be eerily similar to Disma. All 5 are new to me and I find myself listening to the above much more than Vader, Morbid Angel, and even Hail Of Bullets recently. Good stuff.

I received a CD version of Chaaval today, fuckin' brilliant album.

Neurosis + Godflesh + Hindu music = Gigandhi

Yes, they do kick ass.

To both Acidbubblebath and Mortalscum for recommending Rottrevore. Been jamming them the last couple days. Intense stuff.

And to whoever suggested Coffin Dust. I really dig it, great underground deaththrash.

I just want to thank Autothrall. I think you have made the most influence on me here on MA. You're list of 400 death metal albums and other lists on rateyouremusic is great. I don't always agree but I can generally get an idea of what is good and what isn't by you. Thanks! Keep up the good work.
