Goal

You get approximately 30 days to write 1 song, you will then upload it to a file sharing site and post the link in this thread so that I may download it to put into the final RAR file, or you can personally email it to me, I’ll post my email address further down

This is a very rewarding challenge, as you will have another song under your belt, or if you have not written a song before, then this is a terrific way to get started, 30 days is plenty of time to write a song

( Unless your writing some 15 minute BM Epic, this could be a problem )

Your song will ( hopefully ) be downloaded by many users on this site and it is a great chance to get your material out there, and its just great fun

Conditions

All material must be written within the 30 days
Quality does not matter, unless its even worse than Bathory’s S/T (  )
All submissions after October 25th will not be accepted
It does not matter what you write or how you write it
You can use any instrument/s that you like, even just a guitar track is fine
You can enter any time you like, between the 19th of September and the 25th ov October
If I miss you and don't add you to the list then just post again or message me

YOU CANNOT SUBMIT PREVIOUSLY WRITTEN MATERIAL

If you do not submit anything by the end of the challenge then you owe me your daughters virginity

Summary

I could just use one of the songs I just wrote for any of bands that I'm recording a ton of material for.

or do you want something completely brand new and from something else in particular? I can write and record a song in the next week and mix it.

You offerred nothing but reposting what I had just read that didn't have anything that I want answered in it.

Well you asked if you could use a song you've already written..and it says the song has to be written within those 30 days. So that kind of means you have to write it for this competition.

But I think this competition needs direction, like what kind of songs people are going to write or something.

I've written 22 songs in the month of September alone. I wasn't sure if this means from this exact post on this date into Oct. for two different bands. and I'm currrently working on recording them this week. did drum tracks today.


but yes this needs to have a particular theme perhaps.

Who am I to tell people what to write? they can write whatever the hell they want, no need for anyone to hand out direction or orders

lets just let the creativity flow man, no boundaries or rules

reminds me of noise contest i did once... except that the situation was inverse... i gave them themes, and almost nobody wanted to follow it

Well, you got 6 or 7 days to prepare for the contest man, if you'd like some advice, start thinking about certain lyrical topics, what direction you want to take your song in, learn some other bands riffs / licks and get that flow happening

I like the idea of encouraging people to write and record, but to have no criteria whatsoever? It might help to have a bit of structure.

But maybe not... I'll put something in, but its gonna be IDM, dark ambient or noise related.

If it hits the 25th here while your still a day or two behind, then thats cool, just let me know when you post your submission

And if this little challenge goes smoothly, then I'm thinking for the next challenge it will be Traditionally BM orientated

30 days seems like an excessively long amount of time to me for some reason.

Like it or not, that's the amount of time I have set

I'll do a track. and it'll be something brand new, might not even be something that I would use in one of my other bands... so a new project all together!.. I'm going to try to do it this week since on sunday I'll be leaving to go work out of town and won't be around to do any further recording.

I'll do a track, probably Death Metal or Melodeath. My quality's not very good, but I'll give it a shot.
