I'm looking for a specific type of metal, it has to be old, preferably dark sounding. Songs about battle are definitely preferred. Basically bands that sound like Omen, but with better vocals(nothing against the dude from Omen, I like em a lot.) Specific songs are good too.

That Axehammer is *exactly* what I'm looking for, that is good shit right there. I'm aware of Brocas Helm, but that's also a good recommendation.

Axehammer is indeed great. Sadly for the band it took more than 10 years to get that Lord of the Realm EP released.

What about Adramelch and Dark Quarterer? The Etruscan Prophecy is basically the epitome of 'epic heavy metal'. Adramelch, too, soaring riffs!

Try out Atlantean Kodex. They are a new German band, but they live and play the sounds of the epic metal old school, a la 80's Manowar, Solstice, Bathory, Manilla Road and so on.
