failsafeman's review of "For Mircalla" by Briton Rites (and the short clip you can hear where the album is sold) convinced me to buy the album (and I was not let down)....

Thanks to MikeyC for recommending Anaal Nathrakh. This band is becoming a favourite of mine.

I would like to thank failsafeman for his review of Gotham City material (a live demo and a full length, I believe) which introduced me to the band (and led to me giving their full length a chance). Now I've got to get around to digging through some more of this old Swedish heavy metal (starting with that "Heavy Load" band that I've heard talk of).

Thanks to CannibalCorpse, Perplexed_Sjel and Noktorn for all the great reviews that they have done. CannibalCorpse got me into the depths of Hellenic BM with his reviews about Darkest Oath, Disharmony, Jackal's Truth and many, many others (he also send me their songs, much appreciated dude :headbang:). If it wasn't for Noktorn I would have never been introduced to the likes of Xanthos and Hacksaw to the Throat and of course through Perplexed's reviews I got to love Absentia Lunae.

Cheers to you, guys :hail:

Thank you Named for recommending Urheimat in the Progressive Black Metal thread. I was looking for something exactly like this a while ago and thought it didn't exist.

Thanks to colin040 for name-dropping Runemagick. I'm getting one of their albums in the mail soon, and hopefully they'll be good when listening to a whole album, rather than a few songs here and there. I'm sure it'll be good, and I'll probably order more albums in the near future, too. Cheers, mate.

I'd like to give a shoutout to the forum at large for Cryptopsy, a band I'd heard a lot about but never bothered to check out until I noticed the sheer number of people recommending them.

Thanks to Hells_Unicorn for an awful lot of reviews on albums. Ultimately many of these became valued pieces of my collection.

Also thanks to all the regular dudes on the heavy/power metal recommendation thread (you know who you are). I don't post much, but I've read that thread end-to-end by now.

I'd like to give a shout out to whalerot for his recent thread on the band called Infernal War

The band is totally NUTS!, the drumming is lightning fast and crushing as hell, It makes me wonder how bands like this are not brought to my attention sooner, considering I love music like this :p

I really appreciate ya for posting that one mate, here's to ya :)

This wasn't really a rec, but thanks to whoever it was that said WASP's Unholy Terror is a crushing album, I loved their 1st one and Last Command but hadn't really heard anything since, and glad I checked it out!

Thanks to Umbersun for recommending Gorguts' Considered Dead and to ShaolinLambKiller for recommending Cardiac Arrest's Cadaverous Presence.

Both albums came in the mail today, and have all day been competing with each other for CD player time lol. I think Cardiac is ahead by one or two playthroughs so far, but damn. I can't even skip tracks on these things!

Nice RecS! I'm sure I'll be going back to that thread I made a few more times for reference too, lots of interesting shit.

Thanks to CrushedRevelation for showing me Teitanblood and Coroner. I only heard Mental Vortex from Coroner, but it's definitely good enough to buy.

As for Teitanblood, I was floored. So much layering and a thick-as-fuck atmosphere that I have scarcely heard. That has risen to the near-top of my wanted list. Seven Chalices is absolutely amazing, and I hope that my stereo gives out the same kind of atmosphere as yours did.

Thanks, bro!

Seriously, man, you rule. It's all thanks to you that I discovered all my favorite thrash albums.

Znowhite-Act of God

Deathrow-Deception Ignored
Toxik-Think This

Also, I would have never listened to Axioma Ethica Odini, so yeah.

Thanks to Metantoine for recommending Forteresse to NoisyPanther! I knew of them but never even thought of listening to them because I wasn't really into black metal until awhile ago so I'll also have to credit you for indirectly getting me into it even more, haha! I'm about to listen to Métal noir Québécois for the 4th time today.

they're playing tommorow with Celestia, but i'll be unable to go, you should, search for a thread i've done about that on the metal discussion. Also check Brume d'automne, Sombres fôrets, Gris, Utlagr & Neige et Noirceur for du crisse de bon métal québecois

Whoever recommended Singapore death metal band Rudra gets a high five. This reminds me of the glory days of the Holy Records roster, only heavier. Extra points for the interesting Vedic themes.
