Should this band be here?

http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=1652

Their only release states "Also released under the name Prodigy." It seems the album is only a re-release under their new name.

I have one question concerning Two bands like JEX THOTH and BLOOD CEREMONY,because when I wanted to add very similar combo like VINUM SABBATUM had to chance to do it because this band is Black listed(Also THE DEVIL's BLOOD).Anyway.Both Bands(JEX THOTH and BLOOD CEREMONY) play not metal at all.Just 70s rock with Distorted guitars and that's it.Big FUZZBOX sound.Ya know qhat I mean.If for example THE DEVILS BLOOD had more distorted guitars(As well as VINUM SABBATUM) Im allmost 100 percent sure they got accepted. Its just psysichal mentality of listeners as well as moderators I think. If its LOUD - Well its OK.If sound a bit softer everybody looking to the band different.I have all releases of JEX THOTH and BLOOD CEREMONY on Vinyl and none of these records sounds like Metal for me.HEAVY? Yes.But its Retro 70s music.Imagine JETHRO TULL with ala CELTIC FROST distorted guitars...

Are you sure the demo and the album are the same recording?

That's why I asked here because someone might be more familiar with it. I thought it could just be a re-release because it said it was also released under Prodigy and that the releases were a year apart.

No need to get pushy and obnoxious about it.

I think Jex Thoth is similar to Sunn O))). Very borderline, but definitely some kind of doom.

Hold on now, it's true that their metalness is rather borderline, but they do have numerous doom metal moments, and most importantly they're a side-project of the Orodruin guys. I don't think they should have been deleted.

I listened to all the material I could find on the net and would only consider the first track on the demo "Horror Rock" doom metal. Other than that I could only discern minimal metal influences. Also they have no release with worldwide distribution yet. But it's your call. If you want them back, fine by me.

Hmm, yeah you're right, I guess Razorback hasn't released anything for them yet. I think they should be re-added once that happens though. They definitely have metal influences in my view, from the little I heard, but yeah, not enough to be on the site on that basis alone.

I knew the name seemed familiar, so I searched this subforum:

http://www.metal-archives.com/board/vie ... 25#1170425

According to this they were thrash influenced early in their career and changed to grind/crust later in their career, maybe ask Fanfarigoule about it.

i have heard their erly material released under the name of Resistant Militia and it was even less metal than their current style. No thrash in there.

Any particular reason why Emit is on the site? Does he have a black metal release? And what about T.O.M.B., does he have a release with guitars?

There's guitar on Emit's demos, albeit noisy, freeform & chaotic a la Abruptum.

Grimm the Capsule always sounded like a hard rock band to me. I haven't heard their demo tapes and I don't know anyone who has.

That is not hard rock, but mostly modern punk. But you are right, this does not sound really metal.

I know Emit has guitars, that doesn't make it metal.

Get rid of Rush. Just because Eddie Trunk has convinced some they are metal, does not make them metal. Been listening to them myself since the early 80s, and they are not metal.

The rules say this:
Quote:
- Mötley Crüe, Deep Purple, Rainbow and Rush are not considered metal by some. Understandable, as their music and heaviness varied and was debatable at times. But what they sometimes lacked in "metalness", they made for in historical importance, and they are there to stay.

As I've stated before if those bands are in there, there is no reason why Ratt should not be. There demo and first record were both metal.

As I've stated before, none of those bands should be here (except Mötley Crüe, who do actually have a metal album). It's not up to either of us to make these decisions, though.

I feel like a noob already for posting this in the wrong spot... so hopefully this'll be quick and painless.

Why is Daniel Lioneye on MA? They're about as metal as Slipknot.

This band doesn't really sound metal on the myspace songs, it only has a few influences:
http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=73855
http://www.myspace.com/zywiolak

There isn't any song from the first demo on myspace, though the only review of it in the archives says that there are no guitars on it. I don't think this band should stay.

Using the "Add a band" link in the front page. Make sure the band is metal, though (I say that just in case "Soul Grind" is the genre of the band you want to add). This is covered in the "Help" section: http://metal-archives.com/help.php

I'm not saying they sound like slipknot, I'm saying that they're not metal just like slipknot is not metal (which I totally accept).

Their album Vol II does approach some aspects of metal like a raspy voice, and an occasional double picking/double bass moment, but on the whole I don't see how they are considered metal. There are a lot of bands not included on this website that more metal then they are. But my argument isn't that X band isn't on here so Y shouldn't be either. I'm just saying that they're nu-metal/alt. metal because their sound isn't consistently metal, which seems to be one of reasons bands are rejected or removed from this site. It just seems inconsistent.

The second album songs there do not sound like nu-metal, they sound like modern black metal with gothic and electronic elements.
If you want to question a band listed there, do not use non-existent styles as "alternative metal" and explain it in details, using songsamples or detailed professional reviews to support your statement.

Deleted Siissisoq.
Their music is a mixture of punk, hardcore, alternative, electronic and metal elements, but never consequently or predominantly metal.
The heavier songs remind me of early Therapy?.

Erebus - apparently no public physical releases.
http://www.motorcityrock.com/bands/erebus/erebus.html

Dead End Future:
DEF is working on recording and releasing a live demo in summer 2010.
Stargazer (Deu) - hard rock
Dogbone - hard rock
Rankelson - glam/hard rock, not nwobhm
X-Sinner - AC/DC worship:
http://www.myspace.com/xsinnernews
Whitecross - hard rock, sound like Ratt on their major label mainstream releases.
