Greetings.

I submited the band Edenlust and was rejected for the following reason

"More gothic rock than metal."

We have all the requirments to be in the archives and only one song leans on the 'rocky' side but is more later era Sentenced (Cold White Light, Funeral Album) than The Cure or Sisters of Mercy. We are mainly influenced by Sentenced, Tiamat, and Type O Negative, you can hear it in our music. And all 3 of those bands are in the archives.

I assure you we are a metal band and would like you to reconsider your decision.

Thanks

Read the message on the first page. The songs on myspace are more gothic rock than metal.
Of all the influences listed on your page, you sound closest to HIM.

I see what your saying...

Those are some of the more commercial songs we have...I'll wait til we put the full album out then re-add it. The other songs are all gloom and doom and heavy as a ton of lead.

Is there any mid 80's Agony band from the Netherlands that got rejected?
I can't submit this band. Which band got rejected? Where are they from?

Of course from the Netherlands. Otherwise it could not be blacklisted. If they are the same band - no idea.

Does the black list mention any special infos?
"My" Agony band released 2 demos and my source says Priest/Maiden influenced.

Shouldn't you check out first if it's the same band or not? I mean every second Heavy Metal is called Agony.
So which city's the rejected band from?

Condemn the Carnivore was rejected for no apparent discography. I don't know if they need a debut or just songs, because they do have songs, which I presume are demos. http://www.myspace.com/condemnthecarnivore

The Finnish thrash metal band Ceaseless Torment must be accepted, they just released their first demo Craving For Revenge.

They are a plain metalcore band.

What? Please, could you explain yourself how its a "plain metalcore" band? have you ever really listened to them?

this is from their debut.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kEHm2gc ... re=related

more samples:

http://www.myspace.com/sonofaurelius

and the cd does exist.

Or, are you rejecting it because you don't like it?

they're quite similar to arsis. Techincal brutal death metal with modern melodic influences.

Thanks.

We are rejected them, because we think they are not metal enough. Also, read urgently the first post in this thread in order to learn how to behave here.

To my ears SoA sounds Metal Enough. For my is strange that there still plenty Core bands allready in M-A and those sounds not metal at all.Take for example Curse at 27 (In Metal-Archives database) and compare them to Sons of Aurelius.

Personally, I would not oppose so vehemtly to their inclusion and would accept them, if their is no big oppostion.
Curse is gone . Those emo gang vocals in the niddle of the songs scare me...

When I had submitted that band in the first place, I added a message I received from them saying that it was originally out physically. They asked for my address and everything...I assume it's for download now that they have run out of copies or something like that.

I tried uploading the band Last Wail, and put in a myspace link plus a full-length release. Can someone tell me why haven't they excepted it?

Their myspace:
http://www.myspace.com/lastwail

A post they made in ultimatemetal.com:
http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/new- ... style.html

And they released a new album called Tales Of The Endless Night.

Cheers,
Mark.

Periphery was rejected upon the basis that they were not metal (more core than metal). But after listening to their full length debut, I find their music to be very metal. While it has breakdowns, they're more in the vein of Meshuggah and less in vein of Emmure and the like...

Judge for yourself.

(this is actually an instrumental version of the song, so from a musical perspective you should be able to hear the influences a bit clearer)

I could possibly see the band rejected with the similar reasons behind the rejection of Between the Buried and Me, but songs like the one I posted shriek metal so much so that I had to bring it up.

Thanks much

I hope you do know that Meshuggah is only on the site for their material up to and including their first album.

No I didn't know this... that sort of leaves me perplexed, as well :|.

edit: If this is true though, labeling the band as a Technical Post-Thrash Metal band is really inconsistent upon the terms that they are not metal anymore.. would you agree? Unless the mods think otherwise..

M-A can't take everyone's word and just believe it. A convincing photograph of the actual release (in it's physical format, obviously) is probably the best way to prove the band in questions existence. Just upload a picture of it to a reliable picture host source such as tinypic or imageshack and paste the link here. This is probably the most common (and perhaps the most effective) way but there are others as well. See the link below.

I noticed the band Terzij de Horde recently in the queue, but I assume it has been rejected since I can't find it neither in the queue nor in the database. Could anyone please let me know: were they deemed not metal enough or was the submission lacking in proof of physical releases?

Thank you.

If I recall, for not having physical releases, I did not bother to listen to it, when it had already that problem.

Submitted metal band NOG.

http://www.myspace.com/nogulism

Was turned down for not being metal. They're a Meshuggah worship band so I'd definitely say it is metal.

Also submitted Groan a while back which was turned away from not being metal enough (how do you rate that)?

Groan is psychedelic rock. Out of the myspace tracks, only one reaches the level of heaviness of Black Sabbath.

The other band does not sound metal enough. Recent Meshuggah do not too.
