A band I'm sure some of you are at least familiar with, I think someone pops up every now and then to demand their place on the archives (personaly I think they should be but there we are). If you are however not familiar with them here is their myspace:

http://www.myspace.com/theangelicprocess

Tragically the band is no more as one of the band members died in 2008 of a suspected suicide. And obviously there will never be another new TAP album, although suposedly there are some demos etc being released but that has died somewhat. Anyways, the only band in my eyes that has come close to their sound and the sound I'm looking for is Methadrone. And what I'm asking for are bands/albums/whatever that either you think encapsulates the kind of music and sound that TAP had or bands/albums/whatever that you think I would like.

Thanks in advance,

Doomlover.

Edit: Should probably say that you can reccomend any type of music.

This is like the metal version of "I can't cook, I even fuck up Mac & Cheese"

Nadja's Touched re-recording is a bit like TAP. Also Have a Nice Life is supposed to be similar, much less metal though, but amazing stuff.

Seconded. I also think that Bodycage by Nadja is closer to the TAP sound than Touched, but that's just IMO. Finally, the suicide is not 'suspected', but sadly all too factual.

I've got an atooishinjuu album. Very similar in sonics but otherwise it's really average. Not quite sure what was happening with K when he wrote the Atoo album but it comes across as very angsty and emo-ish, and nothing's off the same quality.

Nadja has never really seemed to sound all that similar.. there's a huge wall of sound but that's it. I'd second the dude that suggested Touched 2007.

Jesu's self titled is another one.

That's pretty much it. I'm doing an album that sounds like a doomier version of TAP myself.. I'll let you know when it's out.

There's also "Violence Paints the Sky", another TAP side project. It's more trip hoppy and I've only found the songs on myspace, no album. Better than Atooishnjuu, but still rather emo-ish. Give it a look.

Regarding their place in the archives.. I used to agree with you. But looking back on it, there's only a few metal bits scattered throughout their albums. Their albums are fantastic (I consider Coma Waering to be the best music ever made, by anyone, ever) but for the most part it's just massive CHORDS OF DOOM. Not predominantly metal.

I'm thriding Nadja. Caspian's right as they're not too similar (TAP tends to be a bit heavier and more depressive sounding). But their first take cover of Swans No Cure For The Lonely is defiantly for you if you like TAP (although the rest Trembled isn't that grand). Touched is excellent and i'd also suggest Truth Becomes Death. When "Bug/Golem" finally gets going it's amazing.

Later Envy might be your thing. It's not metal, and not too simialr to TAP, but has a similar vibe, especially songs like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNJP_moDkUA

Insomniac Doze is a great album of post hardcore/screamo/post rock....whatever you want to call it.

Again, very different, but worth a shot. http://www.last.fm/music/Mouth+of+the+A ... utostart=1

Mouth of the Architect, my favorite song of theirs.
