My head is pulsating like a prostitute's vagina on heroine fucking a horse. What bands do you recommend me to substitute in for painkillers?

Darkspace. They're pretty good for that sort of headache. Just close your eyes, relax... and listen.

His head will explode.

I suggest the s/t Dolorian.

Yeah, Darkspace isn't the best recommendation. Too fuzzy.

I suggest some slow, folk inspired doom - bands like Uaral would be great. Soft and acoustic driven. 'Lamentos a Poema Muerto' would be a worthwhile listen. Something soothing like Ulver's 'Perdition City' might be worth looking into as well.

Have you tried silence? Probably works a lot better...

First, crank some Sunn O))) at maximum volume.

Second, shoot yourself in the balls.

You'll forget about the headache really fast, don't know what you should do after that. I never tried it myself, not sure if it works.

Painkiller by Judas Priest is another album that comes to mind though...

On a serious note, for some really good doom for this, try Thergothon. If bass bothers you, tone it down, treble is non-existant. Actually, anything moderately deep and heavy with non-existent treble is easier on an aching head than some Toxik or Judas Priest... at least to me. If the opposite is true for you, go for some Toxik or Judas Priest. If you're sort of in the middle, try Aarni (another doom band. I find doom to be much more relaxing in general, too much activity and your head will explode)

Most definitely not Ulver - Nattens Madrigal.

I vote for dark ambient, Jääportit's Voimasuo.

Warning: Do not listen to Darkspace with a headache, it will cause an aneurysm.

Ildjarn - Hardangervidda, relaxing ambient music.

Forgotten Land - Samhain - Autumn, mixture of ambient and metal, some parts are relaxing.

I also second silence whenever having a headache. Any form of music worsens it.

The entire Woodsmoke or Trail of the Unwary album by the excellent Finnish dark ambient/neofolkers, Nest. I damn near always put on Trail of the Unwary when my head hurts, when I just really need to chill out... it's also almost always on when I go to bed. It's some of the most relaxing stuff in the world, in my opinion.

Sounds like you need a.........Brain Drill

Seriously though, Agalloch would be a wise choice, mainly The White EP. Otherwise any acoustic album by any band usually helps me. Even if you don't like Opeth, Damnation wouldn't be a bad choice.

Crank Type O Negative's album Bloody Kisses.
