I want something melodic, atmospheric and progressive and still quite catchy and intense. It should have mostly clean vocals but occasional growls/screams are no problem. It should also incorporate real piano and acoustic guitars.

Kamelot's The Black Halo > anything Amorphis has done.

You should clarify whether you're talking about the Amorphis album or the Latvian band.

I agree, but the Latvian band doesn't have progressive arrangements, clean vocals, melodic/atmospheric, etc. So it's pretty obvious.

I didn't even know there was a band called Skyforger. So yeah I meant the Amorphis album.

Insomnium fits that desciption pretty well, only thing is that they don't have any clean singing(exept for a few spoken/whispered passages).

One problem, those are nothing alike.

I'd also recommend most other amorphis albums after tales.
