Like "Stormblast" by Dimmu Borgir, anything by Vordven, Sorcier des Glaces.

Must sound somewhat dated, lo-fi but not muddy like Ildjarn, remind the listener of snowy peaceful landscapes, and the keyboards must be more atmosphere-inducing than lead.

NO SILENCER VOCALS

Paysage D'Hiver is the first band that springs to mind, also Coldworld's latest album is a fantastic release with great atmosphere.

Well, you can check into Vinterriket's Der letzte Winter - Der Ewigkeit entgegen, it's a metal album of Vinterriket as he made a lot of ambient and in 2009 he made a folk/acoustic/ambient-y album. Which is also nice, but not what you are looking for at all.

Paysage d'Hiver in my opinion isn't really the "peaceful" snowy landscape. It's a bit noisy for that. But that might be just me...

I second Coldworld.

Fear of Eternity sounds similar to Vordven, I believe.

Astel Oscora might also fit your requirements.

Also one of the more obvious, Lunar Aurora.

And I'm not sure that this is what you are looking for but it's awesome so you should check it out regardless of everything: Sun of the Blind.

I got Coldworld and Fear of Eternity. I particularly like FoE, it gets that "frosty" sound down great! Something a little older sounding would be great too. I'll look for the others when I'm done at work :)

Thanks much for the recommendations - I knew I could count on you guys!

Another great release I forgot to mention was Forest Silence "A Philosphy Of Winter", not really low-fi but fits the rest of your discrpition, excellent album, they a re a side project of a few members of Sear Bliss. I also find that Immortal's "At The Heart Of Winter" creates a great frosty atmosphere, you might like it.

I agree. Forest Silence is a magnificent band, I hope they release more material! Not just their full-length is great. All of it.

Probably not exactly what you're looking for, but try WinterRealm.

I recently listened to Wormsblood´s 'In The Stars', it´s some kind of really lo-fi black metal with slight traditional metal influences, cheap, but eerie synths, some ambient parts and an overall weird atmosphere. You should give it a try.

Checked out your myspace ChronoSphere, impressive stuff, the new material "Ouroboros" is sounding like a promising new release and I think your music fits this thread well, reminds me of Forest Silence in a lot of places. Also agree with Strid, great but short lived band, hard to get their cd now though, I was lucky and picked a copy up a few years ago for fuck all!

There still are those nice leather bound re-releases by Kryck records, but they're kind of expensive...

Xasthur and Darkspace are good atmospheric black metal bands.
