Heya,

I just listened to Glorior Belli's Meet us at the Southern Sign and it got me thinking about blues and/or southern rock influenced black metal. I know of just one other band that does this well: Blood Cult (who's about to release a new album!). What other bands are out there?

Meet us at the Southern Sign is fucking awesome. I love how they've added a more bluesy edge while still maintaining their old sound.

This is probably a rec. thread, but would Goatwhore come anywhere under that, they are Black Metal in parts, and their whole sound feels like the NOLA swamps.

More sludgy than Bluesy, but that is still Southern influenced.

In any case Goatwhore's new album is un-fucking-believable and everyone should buy it!

Fixed for truth. It's about the most lifeless and uninspired album I've ever heard.

Creeping's Funeral Crawl album has this sort of feel to it (IMO).

Indeed it is.

This doesn't exactly help, but Svarti Loghin have a bit of a country vibe IMO. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Mid-era Judas Iscariots has that slow-blues vibe that someone once described it as "Doors-influenced black metal".

Whoups! I'm sorry, won't happen again. Been gone for a while and there's been some changes. Last I was here metal discussion was the place for recs.

Anyway, thank you all for your recommendations!

Yeah, I'm still trying to find that shit!! Judas Iscariot is one of my favourite bands, and The Doors is my all-time favourite, yet.... wtf?
